I like the blue. Did you notice much difference in cooling? I but Guy's baffle kit on my J and worked as advertised and cleaned up the looks too.

I only flew it for a month before we did all that work. So no basis for comparison. I have been keeping my hottest (#1) below 380 but I guess that was for Conti. Managing #1 mostly with cowl flaps. I don’t think #1 being warmer than the rest is baffling but the other cylinders are pretty cool ~20 deg lower. I haven’t flown in a week. I need some Miss Daisy time.

good job having it pulled forward or in - that’s what many owners seem to miss.

The corner buttons have yet to be installed, but it does seal nicely against the cowls.  All metal edges and gaps sealed with black rtv silicone.

In- process of installing new engine in my former Ovation a few years ago.  Such a fun and exciting project it was ! :)

That looks awesome, it’s nice to see people who are willing to go the whole distance on an install.

Thank you.  I even polished the Lord mount aluminum shields.  Ya could have eaten off that engine compartment when I was done.  Kept it that way too.  Mighty proud of it I was!!!

1977 correct, only two ducts ?

i made the rh duct longer than original to reroute it .

No, it’s a 1983 model.  I too make the right duct longer to avoid the cowl flap linkage.

There are many small details I’ve noticed on your install.  It’s always a balancing act between a clean and tidy installation and a reasonable budget.  My brother used to say “do you want it thrown in or installed?”

I did what lotsofgadgets did, double adel clamps to keep it off the cowl linkage.

That's a good solution.   Long ago in its earlier life my airplane was a rental and they made a bracket right there to hold the Hobbs meter, where you can see it through the oil hatch.   I ditched the meter and use what's left of the bracket to hold the duct, but I think the adel clamps is a better idea and would let me finally ditch the rest of the bracket.

I’ve fashioned a few variations of this for mounting pressure transducers.

Where do you mount that?    The outfit that installed my engine monitor made a similer thing, but much larger, and was attaching it to the engine mount above the oil filter such that I wouldn't be able to change the oil filter without removing the whole assembly every time.   I nixed that idea when they were already about half done with it, and instead they mounted the transducers independently on the firewall.   It's reasonably clean the way they wound up doing it, but this looks interesting.
