Believe it stores internal memory of navigation data and your last location maybe more. Kings Avionics in KC replaced it back 2007 and said most people don't know about it. 1
KNorton Posted September 17, 2021 Report Posted September 17, 2021 Yes, the battery is for the memory and settings. It is soldered to one of the boards near the back. It can only be replaced legally by an avionics shop but it is a quick and simple process.
