I got this off Amazon and used it yesterday, image quality is really good and I'm very happy with it for the price.  The A&Ps liked it also.

That looks pretty cool.    My main annoyance with the Vividias and typical encoscopes is that you have to dig your phone out, sometimes the connector's finicky, etc.   If this has reasonable quality it looks like a good option.

one of the cheapie endoscopes on Amazon for the occassional everything else.   I have some of those, too, and sometimes they're the go-to device for getting into little crevices or into weird places.   Since they're cheap it's easy to keep one or two of those around.

Stuck one down the dipstick hole a couple of days ago.  Not a great picture, but I'm sure not sticking a Vividia down there.  Actually, the Vividia probably won't fit.

That's interesting.  Looks like it has the same kind of articulation made famous by Vividia.

The Vividia scopes only bend one way.   There've been scopes with integrated displays around for a long time that articulate nearly 360 degrees in both X and Y, they've just been really expensive.   It looks like the overseas entrepreneurs have done a significant cost reduction cycle, as this sort of thing was $1k-$2k not very long ago, and now there's a bunch of them out there like this one for less than $300.

I found an alternate answer to the rigid/semi-rigid/flexible conundrum while looking for a replacement for my early model VA-400. The VA-400 still works great, but I need something that I can also use for another application that the rigid VA-400 can't accommodate. So I bought this one on Amazon.

And I had a "eureka!" moment when the idea of using a rigid tube slid over the flexible cable occurred to me, and I also ordered these.

And here's what I have now that meets all of my requirements quite elegantly.

The scope can be rotated very easily inside the tube, and I can cut the tubes to different lengths as the application requires.

Best of both worlds.

Cheers,
Junkman

Be great if you all share a picture of what your new borescope can do to show off its image quality. That’s still #1 in my book.
