Hank Posted May 22, 2021 Report Posted May 22, 2021 Beginning earlier this week, the notification icon has disappeared from my phone, unless I go into the unreadable small Desktop site. I caught a screenshot when the banner was up, but notice several icons are gone from the top. This is how it looks in Desktop mode The Notification and PM icons are gone, so I can’t tell on my phone when I have either, nor can I check them. Did something just change? Quote
Hank Posted July 1, 2021 Author Report Posted July 1, 2021 Bump. Any ideas? This is a recent issue. Quote
mooniac58 Posted July 1, 2021 Report Posted July 1, 2021 I will look into this. I think I need to reload the site theme - that fixed this the last time anyways. Also - I don't think the mobile version of the site is supposed to have the notification icon visible. However, there is supposed to be a set of "hamburger" bars to the right of the site logo. Like shown here: Quote
mooniac58 Posted July 1, 2021 Report Posted July 1, 2021 Try now. I have basically forced all users to the same theme. There used to be options to select different themes and now everyone should be on a new clean theme for the new version of the site. Let me know if you see the hamburger bars next to the logo now Quote
Hank Posted July 2, 2021 Author Report Posted July 2, 2021 Yes, it's back! Thanks, Craig! No more hitting the "desktop site" checkmark, zooming in to see Notification icon, then pick one, wait to load then turn off "desktop site" to be able to read it . . . That was a pain. Quote
Hank Posted July 2, 2021 Author Report Posted July 2, 2021 You don't need them on your tablet, the icons are at the right edge of the banner. Compare my screenshot above and compare below, the icons aren't there but the burger bar has now appeared. 1 Quote
mooniac58 Posted July 3, 2021 Report Posted July 3, 2021 Yep, what Hank said. The "burger bars" are used to collapse/condense a set of menu items/icons into an expandable menu for smaller devices (phones). Since your iPad has a nice big screen they are not necessary and you get the icons instead. Even on a desktop if you take a non-maximized browser window and start making the window smaller, at one point the icons will be replaced with burger bars. This is because the site design is responsive to available screen size. You can see this below: 1 Quote
