Apollo Posted October 12, 2011 Report Posted October 12, 2011 So are you in utah or Abilene, Texas? Quote
BgapTx Posted October 12, 2011 Author Report Posted October 12, 2011 Sorry, that was old info, I'm in Texas. The plane is actually at GCC right now. Quote
fantom Posted October 12, 2011 Report Posted October 12, 2011 Is there really a Buffalo Gap in TX? ;-) Quote
Hank Posted October 12, 2011 Report Posted October 12, 2011 Google is your friend! Or in this case, MapQuest . . . We found 4 results for"buffalo gap" Please Select One: 1. Buffalo Gap, SD- Custer County 2. Buffalo Gap, TX- Taylor County 3. Buffalo Gap, TX- Travis County 4. Buffalo Gap, VA- Augusta County So the correct question would appear to be, "Which Buffalo Gap in Texas are you at?" And yes, I even used proper Southern English, ending the sentence with a preposition. Proper grammar and inflection take a lifetime to master . . . And I have no idea where any counties in Texas are, but apparently many people think they have enough mountains to form a "gap." Or is it a hole in their barb-wire fence? Nice plane Wes, and good luck with the sale! Quote
BgapTx Posted October 12, 2011 Author Report Posted October 12, 2011 Buffalo Gap Taylor county, about 15 minutes south of Abilene Tx. Thanks Quote
b65cuda Posted October 12, 2011 Report Posted October 12, 2011 I live in Abilene, but they plane is in Wyoming? Quote
jax88 Posted October 12, 2011 Report Posted October 12, 2011 Now there ya go, someone from West Virginia talking about Texas grammar and inflection. Go figure. Quote

Apollo Posted October 13, 2011 Report Posted October 13, 2011 Well I fly a mooney out of elmdale in Abilene Texas. We might need to get a 'Big Country' get together going pretty soon? Quote
BgapTx Posted October 13, 2011 Author Report Posted October 13, 2011 Sounds good Hank, it should be back at KABI soon, Let me know when and where Apollo, I'll try to make it. Quote
jax88 Posted October 13, 2011 Report Posted October 13, 2011 I used to fly my bird out of San Antonio, TX, but lately she's been stuck in a hangar in San Marcos getting an avionics upgrade and an auto-pilot rebuild. But Saturday is the day. I feel like I'm getting a new aircraft all over again. Quote
jetdriven Posted October 13, 2011 Report Posted October 13, 2011 What autopilot do you have in it and what are they doing to it? Quote

jax88 Posted October 14, 2011 Report Posted October 14, 2011 I have a Century 41. It was not holding altitude on my last trip from San Antonio to Las Vegas, so when I took it in for the avionics upgrade I asked the shop to have a quick look at it and see if they could find something wrong. We replaced the "main board" first, but when we flight tested it we were seeing some small oscillations in altitude hold. Upon further inspection we discovered that the pitch server needed to be replaced. I figured while we were in there we may as well add a GPSS unit to it. So, new avionics, new AP main board, new pitch servo, and new GPSS. Quote
b65cuda Posted October 14, 2011 Report Posted October 14, 2011 I'm up for a Big Country get together, just let me know when. I've seen someone with a blue Turbo F at ABI also. I just bought mine, so I'd like to find out who you are using for MX, etc... Mine's hangared at Abilene Aero, but after talking to them about MX, I don't think they will be doing my annual. Quote
Apollo Posted October 14, 2011 Report Posted October 14, 2011 Carrol Aviation located on Elmdale airport. Great guys. Ask for Jim Carol or Robert Kibbe Quote
