Buying an M20F Need Training

Hay all,

Closing on an M20F today or tomorrow.

Are there any CFIs willing to come down to Northern VA for pickup and fly back to Long-island NY and complete my 5 hour Insurance check out?

How much flight experience do you have?

Got any Mooney time to go with that?

If the insurance company only gave you a five hour sentence... you must have plenty of hours...

If they gave you the low sentence, but you have no Mooney hours... There may be a few extra hours required for you to be comfortable...

Just bought a 74 F in August.  I had no Mooney time, only 5 hours of complex time, 200 fixed gear time, and at the end of my 5 hours with the CFI, I was just *comfortable* landing on my 3200 ft strip.  With 5 more solo hours I was feeling confident enough to take passengers.  With about 15 hours now, I feel confident, but always treat my Mooney like she is wild at heart and wants to bite me (shallow turns in pattern, talking out loud, double checking gear, flaps, prop, fuel, cowl flaps, etc).

I wouldn't be afraid to do more transition.  Mooneys aren't all that hard to fly or land, but they do bite when mistreated.

As of now located in brookhaven on the waiting list for a spot at farmingdale. 

Ya 5 hours before solo 5 more solo before passangers. (300 hours 25 retractable no mooney)
