KSMooniac Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 I have an original take-off 2-blade McCauley prop and spinner assembly from my '77 J for sale. I upgraded to an MT propeller on my own, and this prop has never had any damage. It was overhauled in 1990 at around 1900 hours or so, and it had about 3600-something when I removed it. It was resealed a few years ago by the previous owner, and had no leaks or anomalies when it was removed. It could use a repaint, but of course it would be a great time to overhaul it since it is already off the airplane. There is a McCauley prop shop local to me in Wichita, and I'd happily help facilitate an overhaul (at buyer's expense) prior to delivery if that is desired. I could take it to them and let them ship it out after overhaul or I could possibly help with delivery within easy Mooney distance. If for some unlikely reason they discover it to be non-airworthy during the overhaul, then I'd let the buyer walk away, but otherwise it would be an as-is sale from my standpoint. (I wouldn't hesitate to bolt it on and keep flying.) I'd like to get $2500 OBO with shipping at the buyer's expense. I have the complete spinner assembly and a spare dome as well. One is polished, and the other is stripped and ready for paint or polish. When I previously spoke with the overhaul shop, I think they said a full overhaul would be in the $1500-$2000 range, but I can't remember precisely. Quote

flyby201 Posted July 10, 2011 Report Posted July 10, 2011 If Scott doesn't want to sell his prop and spinner separately, I have a spinner for a McCauley for a 77 J. The Prop was a B2D34C212. Polished spinner with very few hours on it. Also have front and rear bulkhead if you need that too. Quote

M016576 Posted July 10, 2011 Report Posted July 10, 2011 Scott- I'm considering a similar upgrade: did you see any performance increase (a couple knots?)? Quote
