I’m trying to plan out my options to go to glass. If I do go the Aspen E5 route, I know I’ll need an EA100 and ACU (2.5 to 3.5 AMU for parts) in order to retain the Century IIb. I do not have the “Lateral Guidance System” and just have the “Command Console” and just have the heading bug and wing leveler.

1. Can I add the Lateral Guidance System Coupler Mode knob to my Century IIb as it sits without any glass upgrades?

2. If I install an Aspen would I still need the Lateral Guidance System knob?

Yes.
I don't think I've ever seen a CIIB without a radio coupler. I have a spare one BTW.

I might be in contact with you regardless if I go the Aspen or Garmin route. It would be nice to have those extra features.

Hey Rich,

Any chance you still have that CIIB radio coupler?  Looking for an 1C388-2, or 1C388-3.  Typically from configs that had an HSI installed.

Thanks, Steve

I’ll check, I have a few.
