OIL Temp Probe

Looking to order JPI EDM 700 oil temp probe. JPI site showing cost of $195 but Aircraft Spruce is $165 with two different choice Oil temp probe. One JPI EDM OIL TEMP PROBE 1/8 NPT 400505 the other JPI EDM OIL TEMPERATURE PROBE 400509 5/8-18. Im leaning towards the 1/8 NPT since its the same as the one on JPI site just cheaper. Can anyone confirm?

The probe on my J w/IO360 going to a JPI830 is 1/8” NPT. It screws into the galley port on the top front of the engine.

Thanks for the confirmation and the pic. Do you have a pic of your 830 orientation on the instrument panel? Interested in the fit on a stock panel.

This is what I went with for orientation. I like having it close by.

Pay no attention to my groundspeed as I was facing a pretty good headwind from 30 degrees left on this approach.

Exactly what I needed to see. That's exactly where I plan to install mines. Currently my EDM 700 and Fuel scan 450 sits in that spot. Thank you for the pic.

And in talking with JPI, the portrait display provides more information than you can get on a landscape setup.

Yes, that information is hard to find on the JP I website. In my application I can program 10 data fields on the right side.

I also have the fuel scan 450 that monitors FF. Do you know if I have to get the JPI fuel flow with or without the transducer as the option for the 830?

Don't know, but you should be able to get a quick response from their tech support folks. I had a couple of questions and Tim (support@jpinstruments.com) was always quick in responding. Like 2-3 hours quick. I have the transducer on mine, as I just upgraded from the 800 to the 830.
