N9937c Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 I was sent a set of drawings for the mooney brake/rudder extensions by one of our Most gracious members and while it would be no problem to make the parts as shown on the drawings I can see other problems in the transfer of the items to the members of Mooneyspace that "need" a little more to reach the pedals safely. I have have thought about furnishing just the metal parts to be assy. by ones a&p/ia but am looking for guidance here. The extensions really do make a world of difference in how you look at the instrument panel. thanks larry Quote
jetdriven Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 I was sent those drawings as well and I had a machine shop fab them up. I supplied the marterials, and did QC on them before installing. what a difference, I can actually reach the pedals without the seat full forward. Quote
DaV8or Posted April 10, 2011 Report Posted April 10, 2011 Do you have the drawings for the 1.5" extensions? That's what I'm considering. Quote
Bennett Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 I too would like to find a source for rudder pedal extensions. I have them on the pilot's side (M20J), but everyone who sits in the co-pilot seat complains that they are too far away. If someone does manufacture them from the Mooney drawings, I would be interested in purchasing a set. Quote
N9937c Posted April 11, 2011 Author Report Posted April 11, 2011 I ordered the material this morning. Should have some ready about May 1. larry Quote
jetdriven Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 LASAR has a couple sets of the 3" copilot rudder extensions. Im not sure how they work, because we have no rudder pedals on the right side, only two ridiculously small tubes Quote
N601RX Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 There is a picture of them in this thread. http://www.mooneyspace.com/index.cfm?mainaction=posts&forumid=2&threadid=1168 Quote
SideSlip Aviation Posted September 6, 2012 Report Posted September 6, 2012 Just wondering If that drawing is floating around anywhere? I tried that link above but it does not work anymore Thanks Quote
Ned Gravel Posted September 6, 2012 Report Posted September 6, 2012 SideSlip: E-mail me (egravel at rogers.com) and I will send them to you. Quote
Piloto Posted September 7, 2012 Report Posted September 7, 2012 If you do not want to mess with your rudder pedals here is another option http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elevator_shoes They will work anywhere and no FAA approval required. José Quote
