teg916 Posted April 10, 2017 Report Posted April 10, 2017 First cross country in the Mooney. Granted I had some tailwind helping me, but that is a good ground speed. 10 Quote

Yetti Posted April 10, 2017 Report Posted April 10, 2017 Ya but you took a long time to get up there. I was 200+ knots at 4500 feet last wed. Quote

BradB Posted April 10, 2017 Report Posted April 10, 2017 Can't help jumping in. Straight and level. FL190. And was 200+ knots GS during the climb On this day at the same altitude, looks like I am a couple knots short of @peevee on the TAS. But, in my defense, he is running higher MP and fuel flow. 3 Quote

Marauder Posted April 10, 2017 Report Posted April 10, 2017 I don't know why you guys do this to yourselves. Yooperman will be along shortly to show some ungodly number close to 400 knots and shut you all up. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro 3 Quote

That said, here's the best I've seen in a while in the Mooney, my last "Mooney" flight to Florida. That's the flight Chicago Center asked me if I was a Mooney Turboprop? Brad seems to have everyone beat on GS. I run less aggressive on my Rocket than most, 30 inches and 2300 RPM. Might be why I'm 400+ over TBO and still going strong. Tom 1 Quote

There's a website that people post on for record ground speeds. Last I looked the fastest Mooney was just over 300 knots. Looks like it's time for a new top dog! Tom 1 Quote

Marauder Posted April 10, 2017 Report Posted April 10, 2017 I got an idea. How about you do this male appendage comparison using NMPG instead of just speed? Perhaps ol' Tom's numbers will be a bit more palatable with a dose of cost thrown in. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro 1 Quote

Looked pretty suspicious to me! How about a Flight Aware link to that 350+ Knot Acclaim ground speed? Tom 2 Quote
tigers2007 Posted April 10, 2017 Report Posted April 10, 2017 Tom what is your oxygen flow rate? I'm supposed to be flying down to Brunswick GA this weekend and I want to climb up to 13-14k range. I have a D tank, regulator, and one of those pendant style nasal cannulas. Maybe I'll get some speeds worth posting in this thread. Quote

That's got to be the fastest Mooney ground speed I've ever seen! Filing 230 knots puts it in propjet territory before ANY tailwind. Tom Quote
