DAVIDWH Posted March 24, 2017 Report Posted March 24, 2017 Two words: Dog hair! Everywhere...We took the two Beagles several years ago... no more! Yves Five canine flying tips: 1. Only fly with poodles, very high IQ and they don't shed. 2. When flying with pets always have spouse accompany you to talk the soothing baby sweetie doggie talk. 3. Never fly with Bassets, IQ very low, and always run the risk of having to squawk 7700 If they should try to take over controls. 4. Please ignore all canine wailing altitude call outs at MDA. Always rely on your radar altimeter or AMS2000 Shadin connected to a Falcon altitude encoder. Reliably reports in 10' increments. 5. 10-25 mg. acepromazine tabs, depending upon weight. A little sedation never hurt anything. (Just my experience as a DVM) Best 2 Quote

Ftlausa Posted March 24, 2017 Report Posted March 24, 2017 My Rottie flies with me regularly, but he does not like to leave the Miff Muffs on. Instead, he will wedge his head between the two front seats to cover his ears and rest his head on the arm rest. Quote
Rszent Posted March 24, 2017 Report Posted March 24, 2017 Get you daughter to sit in the back and hold them............. Quote

Ours is relaxed enough to lay down in the back while wearing her O2 mask. Quote

Guest Posted April 16, 2017 Report Posted April 16, 2017 We have yet to fly with our newest family member. We hope to do it soon. Quote
peevee Posted April 16, 2017 Report Posted April 16, 2017 We're getting a puppy soon, I hope to pick him up in the plane and get him accustomed to flying early and often. The doggie o2 might be an issue though. Quote
N201MKTurbo Posted April 16, 2017 Report Posted April 16, 2017 I flew my cat from Denver to Phoenix once. He just curled up on the back seat. Quote

JoshMan Posted April 16, 2017 Report Posted April 16, 2017 You should all get Chihuahuas. They love flying! 1 Quote

Here are some pictures from a few years ago when my son and I flew with just shy of a dozen chihuahuas. Definitely one of my more memorable flights. 5 Quote
