Thinking about flying to the Bahamas for the weekend. Exuma looks wickedly expensive for hotels. I'd like to spend a couple days in an all-inclusive resort and I figure the Mooney gives better access than the standard cruises and there could be cheaper times to be had. Recommendations for hotels and islands?

There are a few threads around here including pictures of Msers with beach bodies...

I am not one of them... yet.  :)

All inclusive resorts tend to be in easily accessible locales.  I go to Exuma frequently and can suggest the Peace and Plenty Hotel in Georgetown Bahamas as a more reasonable choice.  Exuma also has a Sandals resort though I have never stayed there.

The Bahamas is general tends to be expensive due in large part because everything from apples to fuel for the islands electrical grid must be delivered by boat from Miami.

Antares: When did you plan the Bahamas trip? I am planning an one week Bahamas island hopping trip starting 3/18. We did not decide on final routing and islands yet. Happy to share the experience after the trip!

The Bahamas are quite a bit more fun if you don't go the all-inclusive route.  That tends to capture you, you do what the hotel has available.  One of the best things about the Bahamas is discovering things on your own.  A good starting place would be Bluff House or Green Turtle Club, both on Green Turtle Cay.  Rent a cart so you can make the drive into town.  Go to Brendals for diving.  You would land at Treasure Cay, take a cab to the ferry, and the ferry over to Green Turtle, neither trip is very far.
