Army, Navy, Airforce or Marines

  1. 1. Seems like a lot of us on the forum have served in the Armed forces so I thought it would be interested to see what branch has the most representation. GO NAVY!

So confused on Army/Navy game day! :D

20 and a wakeup! Wouldn't trade *most* of it! B)

Well, at least you technically never lose a game that way...

Cheers,

Active Duty Army since 1994 and still going.....for now.

On my third pattern of fatigues, third set of PT uniforms, and 2nd different set of Class A's.  Wish they would make up their mind, it gets expensive changing uniforms all the time.

Cheers,

Brian

Yes, admittedly this is unfortunate. But I was thinking more of this:

Those of us that worked for living didn't get that dress uniform....

Sorry, that's just the mental image I have of my Pop wearing his cool dress uniform. (To be clear, the dude above is NOT my father!)

USMC AV-8b pilot-2005 to present

Hopefully transitioning to the ANG next year and getting back into a jet along with a day job in the airlines.

Does "serving" as a Navy flight surgeon's wife count? Still have a slight cardiac flutter when I see a handsome guy wearing wings of gold!

Mimi--

Surely you've heard, "Wife. It's the hardest job in the Navy." Grew up seeing that on the side of the commissary bags from time to time. The joys of a childhood in the service of Uncle Sam . . .

USMC 68-70. Force Logistics Command, Chu-Lia Air Base Viet-Nam Dec. 1968 to Jan. 1970. Our Company staffed the ammo dump that supported Marine Air Group 12 and 13 (F4's and A4's). I watched jets land and takeoff and knew I wanted to be a pilot some day. After attaining PPL in 1977 I used my GI Bill to get the IFR, Commercial, SEL and MEL. Joined Civil Air Patrol (Air Force Auxiliary) after retirement from L-3 in 2011, wanted to be active in emergency services and SAR and also because the Marine Core League doesn't have airplanes.

Thanks to all branches and their families who have served, and also to our Mooneyspace supporters.

USAF

ROTC:  89-93

Active: 93-97

Wasn't a pilot in the AF but I flew a pretty mean computer keyboard :) I got a few opportunities to fly in a KC135 and that was pretty amazing.

Did you get a transition?

Unfortunately no.  I'll be flying 58Cs until next year when I get my second pass over for W3.  Then I'm hoping to get out to Vegas to fly for one of the big tour companies out there.  Were you a 58 guy too?

Carusoam - Thanks for the welcome!

No, I'm a 64 guy. But I've had a couple 58 guys who went over to 150U work for me as shadow platoon leaders. Are you out at Polk?

USMC 1981-86, another 25 months in South America doing what needed to be done...or at least that's what they told us.  Since then, in the skies above our troops on the ground in several AO's. 4 deployments to Afghanistan since 2010. Also flying for Korea (the good one!), Sweden, Taiwan, Saudi, Singapore, and our home grown boys in blue, in green and those in tan cammies.
