DavidB Posted June 28, 2016 Report Posted June 28, 2016 Hello everyone, I'm on short final to purchase a 252 TSE and the insurance mob wants me to get 10 hrs instruction before they'll cut me loose. I've scoured the forums and have had no luck finding anyone. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions. Needless to say, I'm more than a little excited to having one of these fabulous planes. ~ David
mike_elliott Posted June 28, 2016 Report Posted June 28, 2016 Chase down Parker Woodruff, he is in Texas. two one four 6792524 If he cant do it, let me know, I travel all over the country when needed.
DonMuncy Posted June 28, 2016 Report Posted June 28, 2016 You can't go wrong with Parker Woodruff, Mike Elliott, or (if you can stand the travel expense), Don Kaye. You can undoubtedly find someone close by who will satisfy the insurance company, but in my opinion, it is well worth the extra expense of getting a real Mooney expert to get you started off properly flying your new Mooney. 1
DavidB Posted June 28, 2016 Author Report Posted June 28, 2016 Thank you for the suggestions. I totally agree that having a mooney instructor would be far far better than your average time building CFI. Mike, thanks for the offer. Let me see what Parker has to say.
DavidB Posted June 28, 2016 Author Report Posted June 28, 2016 Just got off the phone with Parker. He is unable to do the job right now. I'll keep digging to see what I can come up with in the area.
rainman Posted June 29, 2016 Report Posted June 29, 2016 If you could consider coming to San Antonio for several days, I would recommend Bob Cabe. PM me for his number if interested. Ray
carusoam Posted June 29, 2016 Report Posted June 29, 2016 +1 for Mr. Cabe..! It's been 6 or 7 years or so since he flew with me. But the experience was a good memorable one. Transition training, and X-country plane delivery in IMC... Best regards, -a-
