JKennedy Posted February 9, 2016 Report Posted February 9, 2016 I've recently acquired a beautiful Mooney Missile (1980 M20J - 201). I LOVE flying this airplane! However I have SOOOO many questions and I'm having a very difficult time getting good information. I'm praying there are some "Missile guys" on here willing to point me in the right direction. Someone please help! First off, I am in need of a copy of the Airplane Flight Manual Supplement for this STC 00081SE. I've reached out to Rocket Engineering (the STC holder) on several occasions but as of yet they are unable or unwilling to provide me with anything on paper. They tell me the Max Takeoff Weight for my serial range is 3200 lbs and Max Landing Weight is 3083. I see this on their website as well, but i've also seen some old copies of other supplemental data stating Max Takeoff Weight is 2997 lbs with Max Landing Weight of 2900 lbs. 200 lbs is significant and I REALLY want to be operating to the right numbers and operating safely as my children will be flying with me regularly. ANY help will be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks so much in advance!!! I can be reached personally if anyone prefers at jkennedy@twincreeks.com or by phone at 214-458-7211. Regards, Jeff Kennedy Quote
carusoam Posted February 9, 2016 Report Posted February 9, 2016 Welcome aboard, Jeff. We have a couple of Missile guys around here. Did you not get a POH and Logs with all the Rocket Engineering bits and pieces added to it? These things may be serialized to match your airframe. Rocket Engineering has been pretty good about supporting their customers. What seems to be the issue getting in the way of getting a proper copy for your ship? Go IO550! Best regards, -a- Quote
JKennedy Posted February 10, 2016 Author Report Posted February 10, 2016 Hi Bonal, thanks for responding. However, all I see is a pic of a GREAT looking Mooney. Nothing else attached. Was there supposed to be something more to the PDF other than the pic? Jeff Kennedy Quote

I believe Seth's Mooney is a missle and knowing him, I'm sure he'll share what he knows. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 2 Quote

Of all the STC's for the short bodies, I feel the Missle is right up there with the Ray Jay and windscreen mods as best bang for the big bucks. shoot us some pic's with the cowl off if you have some. Seth is abstemious with his plane porn Quote

BobAustin Posted February 19, 2016 Report Posted February 19, 2016 I just saw your post...I have a 1985 Missile s/n 5 that I had converted in 1995 at Rocket Engineering. Still have it but it is just out of annual at Dugosh and they dropped it off in Fredericksburg at Pippen-York for a new ADS B transponder. I am based in Austin/Lakeway 3R9. When I get the plane back I will check the paperwork. As I recall I had a gross weight increase a couple of years later ie about 1997 or so. Hard to remember that far back :-)) Email your contact info to me at bob at yarbroughsw dot com. Quote
