Hank Posted February 5, 2016 Report Posted February 5, 2016 Hey Hank! There's a recent thread about Houston Tank on here somewhere. Use the "Search" box to find it. Quote

Rod Callison Posted June 4, 2021 Report Posted June 4, 2021 My tanks were repaired at Wet Wingologist a few months before I bought my Mooney Ovation nearly three years ago. The left wing developed small leak a few months ago. A small bubble in the sealant had popped. Eddie offers a 7-year warranty, transferable to new owners. He got the leak fixed and treated me like a paying customer, but he charged nothing for the repairs. I highly recommend him. Quote

The right wing has started leaking under the non-skid at the entry of the cabin (where one walks). Eddie has agreed to fix it under warranty as soon as I can get it down there. He has been very responsive. One piece of advice: A few months after the reseal, the aux tanks started leaking around the drains, and I had to fly down there to have him put in new drains (not under warranty). If you are going to go all the way down there, just have everything done and take no shortcuts. The classic “ screw under the wing walk leak” is an easy fix. Just remove the wing walk material at the leak, remove the screw, and coat with a little PRC and then put the screw back in. 30 minute job. A small tube of PRC is about $25. Lee Quote

Lee This is great news - 9 months in to owning an 81 M20J and I’ve started having a screw weep right by my entry door on the wing walk. Although my tanks were re sealed about 10 years ago by the previous owner, I’ve had no other issues *knocks on wood*. Hopefully this is an isolated incident, related to stress from walking on the wing. Quote
hammdo Posted July 22, 2023 Report Posted July 22, 2023 Permatex #3 works also - can get it from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Permatex-80019-Aviation-Gasket-Sealant/dp/B000HBM3QQ/ref=asc_df_B000HBM3QQ/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=241895017383&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=12091684444529427736&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=t&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9026794&hvtargid=pla-492732657309&psc=1 I’ve used this based on an article from Maxwells… -Don Quote
Pinecone Posted July 23, 2023 Report Posted July 23, 2023 My tanks were sealed by Wet Wingologists in 2009 by a previous owner. I recently had the wing walk screw leak. A&P did the 15 minute repair for gratis while doing some other work. Looked through the logs, I saw another instance where a wing walk screw had to be sealed in the past. Quote

Anyone else know anything about them? Hank I had them reseal one side on my J model several years ago and it’s been fine. The other side was resealed by weep no more a few years before that and it’s been fine too Quote
laytonl Posted July 24, 2023 Report Posted July 24, 2023 I’ve used both weep no more and wet Wingologist-east (two different Mooney’s). Both Paul and Eddie were great to work with. On time and no issues with either company. I’d go to whichever is most convenient. Lee 2 Quote
FLYFST Posted December 25, 2023 Author Report Posted December 25, 2023 Used Wet Wingologist to reseal both wings of my M20J and remain very satisfied. Edison is very good at what he does and stands behind his work. All the best - HankSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
Jetpilot86 Posted December 26, 2023 Report Posted December 26, 2023 My Bravo was done at WW East in 2015. I’ve only had it a few months, but no leaks. Quote
wombat Posted December 29, 2023 Report Posted December 29, 2023 I had Edison at Wet Wingologists seal my tanks (4 tanks total, since I have the long-range Monroy tanks) in June of 2023. No leaks so far. He was accurate in terms of budget and time. I'm a satisfied customer. Quote

Anyone else know anything about them? Hank There’s a reason people wait many months or longer for WeepNoMore or Wet Wingologists. Those two have an impeccable reputation. I live in Texas and when the time comes I will go to FL or MN. 2 Quote
anthonydesmet Posted December 30, 2023 Report Posted December 30, 2023 Wet Wing East in 2016 and no issues. As Lancecasper stated, there is a reason folks wait so long to go back to Wet and Weap….we are lucky to still have two great options for our Mooney’s. Plus they are just really nice people. Edison was also taught by the great Piloto - Jose Monroy Quote
Steve Dawson Posted January 6, 2024 Report Posted January 6, 2024 Doesn't Edison now have the STC and install the Monroy Long Range Tank? Quote
