cnoe Posted January 15, 2016 Report Posted January 15, 2016 King-air pilot too lazy to pull the forgotten nose wheel chock powers over it only to have it jump into the spinning prop. Some lessons are best learned as an observer. OUCH! My mind races with images of your incident. Hopefully this isn't on YouTube. I'm sure damages exceeded the value of my entire plane. There are lots of reasons NOT to jump a chock including: possible prop strike, prop damage due to debris, damage to other planes from prop-wash debris, FBO ire, and good old-fashioned embarrassment. But under prime conditions I'll admit to having done it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote

A few months ago, after getting my IFR clearance, taking the time to punch it into the Garmin and advancing the throttle I realized I left the nose gear choked. The thought never crossed my mind to try and jump it. Shut down, remove it, start up, re-enter and get going were the order of the day. 1 Quote
N33GG Posted January 15, 2016 Report Posted January 15, 2016 Far better to forget a nose chock than forget the tow bar... OUCH! Quote
