helitim Posted March 22, 2015 Author Report Posted March 22, 2015 Erik, "As Marky_24 stated, they are a slightly rough finish. Follow his directions for sanding, labeling and clear coating. The new ones do fit a little bit better but, do not have the snug fit of the originals. What I wondered about is if the Klixon switch itself may have just a slight amount of wear that prevents the switch cover from fitting tightly. Next time I am at the airport, I am going to try a new cover on a different switch to test that theory." Still have not test fit on another switch so, not sure if wear is the problem yet. Tim Quote

Tim Tim -- do you what the person used as an example to make the switch? I have a defective switch I could send them to test the fit on. Quote

NotarPilot Posted April 1, 2015 Report Posted April 1, 2015 Hey Tim, have you had a chance to check the switch cover on a different switch yet? Quote
PeytonM Posted August 14, 2015 Report Posted August 14, 2015 I have an 89J, and from reading the Shapeways website, these are the later model E-T-A switches, so I ordered two: one to "experiment" on and one for installing. For labeling, did you make one single long label "STROBE LITE- PUSH ON- STROBE LITE? Width of the label the same as switch? Did you paint the switch after sanding? Flat or glossy? Quote
