MooneyPTG Posted October 23, 2014 Report Posted October 23, 2014 My interior was about 2000 and I did a lot of the work, panel repairs paint carpeting. The exterior was sanded not stripped and was about 6500. I put a king 84b gps in, a new DI with a bug and VSI that freshened up my panel. I use an iPad with ADSB wing x and off I go. My 74 E flys great, looks great and I have less than 50K in it. All that said if you have that kinda cash for all the upgrades, I would buy a plane ready to go. I either would buy a plane with a great air frame and engine that needs paint and an interior or a plane that just needs a new engine. I don't see the value in all the work...unless you really enjoy it. After 2 weeks working on the inside of the cockpit, all of a sudden it becomes a PIA! It gets old real quick. The objective is to fly the plane:)
