They don't seem to be going direct, maybe Brett is having 2nd thoughts and is taking it Canada :D

I'm not onboard or that's probably what would be going through my mind.  I almost took my Mooney banner down out of my hangar to send it with the plane for Doug but I had to hold on to something Mooney.  Sorry Doug.  But that twin Beech will look even better in my hangar with a Mooney banner hanging behind it.

I'm so happy that it went to somebody that is on Mooneyspace and will hopefully be able to live vicariously through Doug as he tells tales of hopping around the western side of the U.S. in her.

Thanks for the update Brett. We're having the biggest storm of the winter so far. Monday looks pretty good. Maybe Nick should spend the day Sunday enjoying all Sioux Falls has to offer.

Sioux Falls doesn't have...much...to offer - 62G and I will keep pressing west perhaps to Rapid City and on into Casper, WY if able today then consider the last bit of the journey tomorrow.

She's running great - Doug you are going to LOVE this J. Smoothest running IO-360 I've ever flown.

Doug - 62G is in Casper, WY for the evening. Flew her up at 14,000 for a bit this morning to remain clear of clouds & ice (29 minutes ;)...the Mooney wing performs noticeably better at that altitude than the shorter Bonanza wing. I've flown a pretty zany route to get the airplane to you but not a speck of ice observed yet.

Looks like you've still got some nasty showery precip tonight and tomorrow morning in UT - I'll enjoy Casper this afternoon and plan to fly the last 2 hours tomorrow to arrive early afternoon if the weather holds! You are going to love 62G!

And poor, poor Brett! Making the movie "Planeless in Latrobe".

LOL!!!

Things are happening on that front.  Hopefully won't be too long.  However looking at pictures of Doug's new airplane isn't helping me get any closure!!!

Folks I couldn't be happier. 62G is a beautiful plane. I'm looking forward to years of fun with her. Brett thank you for being such a good steward for this plane. Nick thank you for a wonderful buying experience. Go to love da Mooney!!

I'm so glad you're happy with her Doug. You will find that it fly's even better than it looks!!

Make sure to go through the Mooney bin I sent with it. Lots of goodies in there. I think you will also like the logbook and paperwork setup. My wife has appropriately named me "binder boy"

LOL

Crazy day at work today but I managed to spend a couple hours flying 62G. It is one solid little plane that definitely likes to go fast. Didn't find a thing to complain about. I actually find it easier to land than a 172, strange huh. It does seem like take-off trim is a little too nose down, but I'll get used to it. I've read some complaints on the net about handling but I really like the way the M20 handles. Controls aren't light but they have a short throw which is nice. I've got some reading to do to master the EDM830.

Looks like old man winter is back for the next two days, hopefully I can get back out flying Friday. Brett, thanks for the gopro mount, I'll see if I can get some video recorded Friday as well to continue the tradition.

You know Doug I really wrestled with the idea of sticking that mount to the ceiling but in my opinion it is a perfect location.   I flew a friends 201 to work today and while it is equipped very nice I was LOST without the JPI.  I don't think I really understood just how much I used it till I didn't have it today.  For instance it was 2 degrees here this morning.  Although he had the preheater plugged in for me I had no idea what the temp of the oil was.  I would never consider takeoff power until my oil reached 120/130 degrees on the JPI but this morning just had to settle for it being off the stop on the factory gauges.  I HATED not having the CHT's for each cylinder as I was climbing out.  Not that I was worried about over temping today but I would climb a lot of times with the cowl flaps in trail on 62G and monitor the CHT's.  I just really really like that unit.  You will find that the fuel flow/counter is incredibly accurate.  It was always within a gallon when I would fill the plane back up.

I was really jealous of you today Brett. There I was this afternoon rattling my cage at work and there you were flying in those blue skies. Good to see you today! Really like Chad's 195 too! Sent using Tapatalk
