Yup! You see my bird parked at the beginning of the video. All pilots and passengers had free meal (chilli and beans etc.) . The turnout was low due to rough, gusty winds but we had about 15 airplanes and 4 helicopters. For the second half of the fly-in, the wind turned to 90 degrees crosswind which was OK for me ln the take-off. Yves

If it is the original, it would be bolted on the pilot side firewall. Would be accessible from underneath... you need 2 persons to take it out. Look for a grey round thing. If this is what you have, I would leave it there and just put a Mallory soundalert elsewhere. Just went through the same last week. The Sc628P is available new for around $25 on the web. Yves

If your dog is OK in a car, there should be no problems... I have two beagles and they follow their master wherever he goes... just lots of dog's hair on the seats. I'll post a picture when I manage to rotate it from upside down. Yves

I will let you know about this within a week or two. My aircraft is at annual inspection now and on the list is the 500 hours inspection of the mags. I am not sure if they were new when the engine was overhauled 1000 hours ago... but one thing is sure is that they have 1000 hours minimum on them now and they are the Slicks. Yves

I was having similar issues on my trip to California a month ago. The mode C encoder I have is the Ameriking, which is the cheapest one available. I was 2-3 hundread feet higher than what was reported and the worst was always when it was really cold and at the beginning of the flight. These things have the pressure sensor in a small oven which is supposed to keep it at the right temperature. Also, the box is located near a vent with a draft almost permanently. I think it was just too cold, because I only get such issues when it is minus 20 C or less. These boxes are not rated below minus 20 C anyway. I will replace it with another brand and change the installation to stop that draft. This shall take care of the problem I hope. Yves
