  1. Here is one: Alarme or Alarm Comes from "à l'arme" which means "get to your weapon" During those years, an alarm meant you were under attack. Yves
  2. Mulro, il me fera plaisir de vous aider si jamais vous avez d'autres interrogations semblables. Yves

  5. About: their bodies have considerably lower cell level oxygen saturation... I recal that during the show the sherpa had lower saturation level than what I would expect. Looks like their oxygen requirement is much lower. Yves
  6. I saw it too. The guy is a sherpa. They are genetically different than the average dude. I would like to see him compete with the best apnea divers, see if he could stand longer then them. Yves
  7. All right Mike. Good luck with the rest of your trip. Hope you enjoyed Canada. Yves
  8. I am based in Gatineau QC, CYND. Check this picture. Probably a bit too far east of your planned route. After Timmins, where is your next stop? Yves

  11. Thanks for the advise Dave. That was my first formation landing as a wing this year. We'll do more in the next few weeks. I was keeping the spinner aligned with the flap bracket still... don't know why I forgot about stack level. Cheers Yves
  12. The regulation is fairly clear about this. All you need is pre-arrange it between the pilots BEFORE you do it. However there are significant safety considerations. Ned and I wanted to join the Mooney Caravan last year: We did not just decide to go do this without being supervised by qualified people. Since there was no clinic in our area, we made arrangements with the Boyds http://www.pittspecials.com who are based in Smiths Falls to get formation training. We did about five sessions with them before the Caravan. We got checked in Madison the day before the Caravan and all went well. If you are interested in Formation flying with other Mooneys let me know and send me your email address. We might have some sessions here and there with the Boyds and will invite any Mooney pilots that want to participate. It is kind of late for new guys to join the caravan but there is always next year :-) Yves
  13. Who wants to bet on the fuel price up there? I bet it is at least $3 a littre ($12 a gallon) Yves
  14. Best wishes of recovery to Mike and family. Prayers for Bill's family. Yves
  15. Here is a movie of the landing we did tonight, Ned and I. Note that my wife was holding the camera, not me! Yves
  16. Got this one: Dear Customer: To follow up on our earlier email today, ForeFlight Mobile version 6.2.1 is now available on the App Store and resolves the app close issue. Just in case you are seeing this email first, yesterday we released ForeFlight Mobile version 6.2 which includes support for our new Sync capability. Some customers experienced an app close issue (the app shuts down immediately after launch) after updating to 6.2. We apologize for this happening and we appreciate your patience while we fixed it. We are on frequency to assist at team@foreflight.com if you have any questions or experience any further issues. Sincerely, -Team ForeFlight
  17. Are you based in Mascouche? I go there once in a while. My brother lives in a town nearby. If ever you happen to come near Ottawa or Gatineau, feel free to stop by to show it off. Regards, Yves
  18. In French, smoke is called "fumée", the FU comes from there. So Mike did you meet Joe, Mikey et al? Yves
  19. Just received this from Foreflight Dear Customer: Yesterday we released ForeFlight Mobile version 6.2 which includes support for our new Sync capability. Some customers are experiencing an app close (the app shuts down immediately after launch) after updating to 6.2. Within minutes of the issue being identified, we created a fix and immediately submitted that fix to Apple. Version 6.2.1 is currently under review by Apple and we expect the update to be released today. If you have not yet updated to 6.2, we recommend that you wait until 6.2.1 becomes available. For those of you that have already downloaded version 6.2, are experiencing the issue, and need to access ForeFlight immediately, the workaround is to delete and reinstall the app: 1. On the iPad/iPhone home screen, tap-and-hold the ForeFlight icon until it starts to wiggle 2. Tap the X in the top-left corner to delete 3. Open up the App Store and search for "ForeFlight" 4. Tap on "ForeFlight Mobile" and redownload the app A delete/reinstall of the app will require you to re-download your charts and data, as well as re-enter your aircraft profile, user waypoints, and favorites settings. A follow-up communication will be sent out once version 6.2.1 is available on the App Store. Sincerely, -Team ForeFlight

  23. AmigOne, the Caravan usually accepts people that did not take part of the clinics as long as they can demonstrate on the Saturday that they are OK. Contact Larry or Dave on this board for confirmation of this. if you need their email addresses, let me know, I will send them to you in private. Regards, Yves
