  1. If you could take a picture of the sticker where it reads "rating 12 ..." or just tell me what it reads after the 12....I assume the current is written on that as well but your picture angle does not show. Yves
  2. Ok folks, enough about birds, here are Phoenix and Snooky, the two flying beagles. Yves
  3. I have a similar one in my panel... and need the current rating to complete my updated load analysis. I don't want to have to take it out. Yves
  4. Kurt, can you check what is the current spec for that unit? I need that mumber. Yves
  5. What is the difference between the 4000C and the 4000D? Yves
  6. and turn coordinator.... Yves
  7. OK fine. This means I only need the strobe data I guess... thanks Yves
  8. My ammeter is definitely not accurate enough for this. I actually stopped looking at it years ago. I have a voltmeter instead that is accurate and tells me if I get a charge but it cannot help with my Load analysis. Yves
  9. Hi guys, I am planning to add some radios to the aircraft. The most recent "Electrical Load Analysis" form I have seems to be inaccurate. I will get an authorized person to create a new one however I want to get everything ready for him so that his work is minimum. Would any one be aware of the specified current requirement for the following?: - Original Wing-Tip and Tail strobes (M20C 1965) - Original Electrical Turn Coordinator (M20C 1965) - Narco IN-825 CDI I searched on the Web and no luck.... If you have some of these, your current load analysis will (should) show the values. I also want to do it before I decide to go ahead buying equipment, to ensure that my current generator will suffice. Thanks. Yves
  10. Did you check with Brittain if they have the Servo control valve? Yves
  11. Jamie, here it is: http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/appages/curtisflushmounted.php?clickkey=490490 Need 05-04888 Yves
  12. Right on this one. Last spring I did not have one handy... now I do....see one of my previous threads. Yves
  13. His real first name is Cheng-Yuang. See http://www.expressnews.com/business/local/article/Kerrville-s-Mooney-Aviation-hiring-4895442.php Yves
  14. Chris, I will PM you, might want something. Yves
  15. Same for me. I will fly to wherever I can get on one tank of fuel to get $1 a gallon. Yves
  16. Patents have a 20 year life span. I doubt that Mooney have ANY recent patent still active. Yves
  17. Bob, it is hard to judge how deep is the hole from the picture? What do you say it was? Yves
  18. Your parrots must be really proud of their captain! Yves
  19. Crossing over the lake would have been much shorter... :-) Yves
  20. The requirements are: Modulating and demodulating AM and FM and ham operation requires a configurable tx/rx offset for repeater use. (normally 600 KHz) If such a thing would exist, that would be my wish for a Christmas present :-) Yves
  21. Is there any handheld out there that would cover the aviation band (AM modulation) and the amateur radio 2 meters band (FM modulation) . I am licensed for both and could use both. Yves
  22. Don't count on it. In Canada, when transport Canada privatized ATC with he new Nav Canada, the tax stayed.... and the user fees started to pop up.... fight this hard... or you will regret it later like we do here! Yves
  23. Pull the radio and check for water or stains. We had an issue with very noisy MK12D many years ago. When I pulled it, I realized that water found its way at the bottom of the windshield above the radio stack. Water on connectors would cause all kinds of issues. I cleaned the radio and contacts and now make sure the seal to prevent water through that crack from getting in is good. Yves
  24. When taking off from my uncontrolled field IFR in Canada, I squawk 1000. Don't you have this code in USA too? I get the clearance via phone or radio and get a new code as I contact the terminal area before entering controlled airspace. Yves
  25. Could shock cooling only be an issue when the OAT is low like in the minus region? I flew the Mooney at -30 C (ground temp) several years ago and it was not pretty. I had more issues with the dials in the cabin than the engine though. Yves
