  1. Looks like there are some posted on Controller. http://www.controller.com/list/PartsSearch.aspx?PartNum=430-0267-300
  2. +1 on SWTA. I've had good experiences getting advice and information from them. Definitely quite a bit of Mooney specific knowledge around that shop.
  3. Congratulations! Great looking little family you've got there. Smart move losing the jacket for the flight, I can't imagine how toasty it would be taxiing around in a full tux!
  4. Sent you a quick PM as I'm currently getting ready to list my "C" model for sale.
  5. As I understand it, the engines are linked with some sort of drive shaft that allows one engine to power both rotors if necessary. I have no idea what happened with most recent crash however.
  6. I "liked" this post so much that I "un-liked" it so that I could "like" it a second time.
  7. First flight in our Mooney with my wife... She insisted on closing the door herself, and I did not check it after she closed it. Door popped open about 400' AGL. I leveled the plane off at pattern altitude, had her hold the control wheel and was able to shut the door in flight.
  8. I have one of these. http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/pspages/fuelhawkuniv11.php It comes with a card that you fill out to tell you how many gallons are in the tank when it the straw shows various amounts. Works perfectly. I did laminate the reference card. Using this device is part of every pre-flight. If I don't need fuel this tells me how much I have. If I do need fuel, this tells me how much to expect from the fuel truck. It's a great way to keep a close eye on your fuel usage. Stick the tank before a flight, stick the tank after the flight and see what your fuel burn was in comparison to your panel gauges etc.
  9. Ouch... A local skydiving outfit once lost the engine in their jump plane and made an uneventful off-airport-landing in a pasture near my house. They arranged to park the plane there for a few days and then their A&P brought a crated engine out and installed it. After all of the appropriate run-up tests, they flew it right out of the pasture in which they landed.
  10. Glad that the pilot / sole occupant is okay. Hate to see that incinerated airframe...
  11. I'd recommend Temple (KTPL.) Cheaper fuel and great service. I'm based there, and my preferred mechanic is on the field.
  12. Looks fantastic!
  13. Howdy Bob, I just removed the 3rd blank page for you. See attached. Best regards, -JLG Weather.pdf
  14. I'm no expert, but I certainly wouldn't expect a higher CHT on a cylinder that is running a richer mix. A leaner mix would cause higher CHT, until you're on the lean-of-peak side of the equation. The fact that it's taking more leaning to get the 50 degree drop on #5, I would question the temperature sensor on number 5. How hard would it be to move that sensor to another cylinder and see if the problem moves with the sensor?
  15. When it was time for me, I went with a lightweight Skytech starter and have been extremely pleased with the performance. Saved on the W&B and it will spin that prop!
  16. They may send them out, but they usually have a decent selection for exchange if you're interested.
  17. +1 on calling Brittain. They're also extremely helpful and quite friendly!
  18. +1 on dipping the tank and then noting how many gallons should be added to each side. I've only had to do it a handful of times when I was operating near gross weight in a high density altitude conditions.
  19. It's a direct replacement for the original bulb and should be easy for you to do if you've been replacing the standard "GE" bulbs.
  20. +1 on the Whelen Parmetheus. Very happy with the performance and reliability.
  21. Any idea if these would fit a '67 C model?
  22. Adding a reminder on my calendar to check the Mooney website / Mooneyspace that day. Very interested!
  23. It's a little bit true. Most people have a hard time thinking about flying anything else. The performance and efficiency of a Mooney is almost impossible to beat.
  24. The short bodies really do yaw a bit in turbulence. I've only ever had non-pilots comment on it..
  25. High quality video, definitely going to have to watch this one at home on the big screen.
