  1. After seeing that collection of "toys" I'd like to update my New Year's resolutions to include becoming very close friends with "docket." :-) It appears he's in Houston which is roughly a 1 hour flight in my '67 C model... Congrats on a purchase!
  2. Excellent. I'll get one ordered. If you have a chance to check the model number, I'd appreciate it!
  3. Quote: scottfromiowa anyone have one of these installed? http://brittainautopilots.com/ PC/AHII (Altitude hold for PC system) Looking for pirep on how they function...
  4. Quote: scottfromiowa Sorry...when I read more closely I realized this is a manual valve/modification. Good luck, Scott
  5. My plane has the fuselage mounted anti-collision strobes, and the upper light needs to be replaced. I've been considereing http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/elpages/whelenflashingbeacon.php as an option that should last longer and draw less current, but wasn't sure if it would be bright enough. I read an article that the new "C-172s" are using LED exclusively. My second option would be to use one of these http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/elpages/modelhrcfalight.php Thoughts?

  7. Quote: robert14 I do not have a part number. Just call Brittain and ask about the "manual" valve instead of the servo. Does not effect yoke switch. Both still work. The valve is simply plumbed into the vacuum line in serial with the button on the yoke. I'll try to get the part number next time I am at my hanger.
  8. Quote: kerry I heard somewhere apple is coming out with a smaller ipad
  9. My RAM Mount for the iPad2 came in today. I opted for the yoke mount attachment and I'm hoping that it doesn't get in the way of things. I'll send some pictures after I get it installed. If it doesn't work out like I've hoped, I'll probably get a glare shield mount.
  10. Quote: johnggreen Are these LED bulbs available for the wing mounted light that are on the Bravo? Jgreen
  11. Wanted to fly today but came down with a nasty headcold. Definitely wouldn't be wise decision to get some air under me with this sinus medicine in my system...
  12. Glad to hear the LEDs are working out for you. I'm hoping to replace my topside beacon and nav lights soon.
  13. Quote: scottfromiowa Yes, it's possible. Contact Brittain. They sold me my servo that my Avionics "guy" installed. Works great. The conversion (paperwork) was for a new style yoke (which I have installed) and the switch is just a toggle switch on the front of my yoke. If your "guy" will put it on the panel then you can do it, but the paperwork shows the switch on the yoke...
  14. Ordered my LED replacement lamp from aircraftspruce.com two days ago. It's on back order, but they're expecting a shipment early next week.
  15. I read somewhere that there is an electric version of the PC bypass to replace the original that is mounted in the control wheel. What I would like to do is move the PC bypass from the control wheel to the instrument panel with a simple on-off toggle switch like a 'normal' autopilot. This would free up the control wheel for better options on push-to-talk etc. First, is this possible? Second, any recommendations? Thanks!
  16. It appears to be attached by heavy duty double sided tape. Whatever was used seems to be doing a great job of keeping the scoop in place because it doesn't want to budge. I don't mind working on it a bit, I just didn't want to damage the window.
  17. Quote: N9660M It looks like the same LED I put in my plane a couple of weeks ago. It's the Whelen PAR46 light. I got mine from Aircraft Spruce and Specialty, but think there are others selling it as well. I think the intensity is fine, as good or a little better than the stock bulb. I'm sure it's not as good as some of the HID systems, but a lot cheaper. Jim
  18. I recently purchased a '67 M20C and love it so far. I've noticed however, that the air scoop for the pilots vent window is positioned to far aft so that it barely pulls in any air during taxi. This obviously isn't a huge problem right now, but I would like to correct the issue before spring / summer. What is the best way to remove and re-position the air scoop without damaging the window? Thanks!
  19. Thanks for the great feedback. I think I'll likely skip the 201 upgrade and just change the layout of the existing panel.
  20. Anyone had SWTA upgrade their vintage panel to a 201 style? How did it turn out, and was it worth the $$? Any other suggestions for getting rid of the "shotgun" panel in my 67 M20C? Thanks!
