  1. Hope you guys had a FANTASTIC weekend and end to March! Happy 1st of April and all April fools ASIDE, we're coming to you to let you know we will not be offering a % off this year! But, do not fear or lose heart! Right on the heels of that we are going to offer an AMAZING perk! We know annual time isn't a good time for most of you. We want to bring some joy back into those couple of days that your plane is down. We know that a hindrance of bringing your Mooney to us is all the arrangements that have to be made along with it. Starting May 1st and ending December 31st - we have an offer for every one of our traveling Mooney customers! We will cover a 2 day stay at the below linked cabin and provide you with transportation (a courtesy car) to use those 2 days! Turn your annual into a couple day vacation (bring your family if you'd like). Another great perk of this location is it is located directly behind the home of Lynn and Tamara Mace. *Please use their calendar through the link to determine the availability of the cabin. Please do not book through their site, firmly schedule with us and we'll take care of the booking. **If something happens and your annual takes longer than 2 days ( at no fault of AGL) you'll be responsible for additional days if available. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/16635667?location=Morganton%2C%20NC%2C%20United%20States&guests=1&adults=1&s=11rpI9Qm&fbclid=IwAR1IfxgAlMcX5rA9UY60TqFwxYpvwfZV6p40agWbI6UYzO5ft2hzQDAF6Vw
  2. Very sore. Mechanical work is Harder than my day job. The lead up is the engine is had a miss about a minute or so after start up. Cleaned plugs and then replaced all left mags with fine wire. Mag checks fine, flys fine, in flight mag check fine. No engine monitor. Lube all pivot points warm up and take over to the professionals to see what is going on. Compression check is all above 75s. But when it comes off the top can hear some release into case on 2 and 4. Decide to put rem37by on bottom and run the fine wire on top. Mechanic is not a big fan of finewires. So we will see. Found broken right mag blast tube. working on pulling the Gear Actuator to send to Don. Pulled right master brake cylinder to rebuild. Better securing of air cooling tube to fuel pump. better securing of MP line to gauge. Other stuff and things. arms and shoulders and neck sore.
  3. I have a 1977 J model that went into a local shop where I live for my annual. The IA I typically use wasn't available this year so I had to use this company to do it. Reputation seemingly decent based on what little I knew. My airplane ends up there for 4 months. They wanted 9k for the standard annual portion which included a ton of labor hour charges that were ridiculous. They damaged my paint when inspecting for a fuel leak on one side. And regularly worked on other airplanes while relegating mine to the " side". One of the reasons why the annual took 4 months. Today is the first day I'll be test flying it, but they still have left a variety of things undone. I could use some advice on how to handle this. Thanks !
  4. Is anyone able to make a recommendation for a quality shop in or near south central Texas for a 1966 Mooney M20C? I used to have service completed at Dugosh; however, they have lost almost all of their Mooney experts and have increased their prices by 30% in the last year.
  5. In November I am due my first annual inspection on my clean 1975 M-20E. I live just outside of Tampa Florida and need to find someone to perform this inspection. I DO NOT want to pay for someone to nick pick the plane and run up a huge bill. It would be great if they allowed me to assist as I want to know as much about my plane as is realistic time allowing. I am not hung up on having to go to a special Mooney shop but want someone who does know what to look for on my bird. All input is appreciated.
