  1. The aileron in mine runs out at FL210
  2. Merry Xmas you filthy animals.
  3. This is what I have been using.
  4. Piper Tomahawk is the answer!
  5. I am not a fan of changing anything that is working to something else 30 seconds prior to take off. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Pilots struggle mightily with this in terms of ownership and operation.
  6. Aviators never cease to amaze.
  7. Current rate I heard a month ago is $15K for case splitting insurance, thus not cost effective for most small shops anymore.
  8. I wouldn’t buy an Arrow with counterfeit money.
  9. Bought 2 of these 4/29/19 on Amazon. Going strong after a bunch of trips and kids riding around neighborhood. I have a fantastic scar from one of them as a bonus. Xiaomi Mi Electric Scooter, 18.6... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076KKX4BC?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
  10. The regulations are the key. I would go to school and focus on paperwork in a structured environment. Dugosh as far as I know isn’t splitting cases, doing their own mags, props, etc. That is all going to get sent out. At a school you will work on those things. School + part time at Dugosh would be the best bet.
  11. Happy Thanksgiving Joe, nice to hear an update from you.
  12. This thread has completely gone off the rails. I recommend getting an IO-720-A1A. It is exactly the same as a IO-360-A1A except 2x better. There was a guy who used to drop in here from Canada with one of these, you could buy it for literally nothing from him using USD given CAD is worth about as much as ARG.
  13. The price on the two engines would be relevant.
  14. They didn’t lose their seal, they were making compression and no leaks noticed. Personally I find the level of oil consumed beyond a ring issue (especially rings making compression). Certainly something wrong with the cylinder but don’t think the rings were the main cause of consumption.
  15. They are as others have said really hard to see. I find using this stick lighter makes it easier to see them.
  16. All practical with a good DER, those are a bit hard to find these days. I would recommend a Colt. Solid airplane.

    Shocks

Yes they can be purchased lots of places but they are all @ $220 now. 2017 is long in the rear view mirror.
  18. You cannot check the oil ring without pulling the jug. What is the compression? I have been working on a similar issue with my #2. 1 quart an hour, normal CHT, EGT, compression, etc. pulled the cylinder and the oil ring is fine. Advice from some was oil ring others was 1 quart with good compression is too much for blow by with good compression. No visible cracks or other issues. Waiting to see what the machine shop says. Guessing valve guide. I love airplanes…..
  19. Lots of advice, the key question sort of was asked. Why are changing your plugs? Generally there isn’t a need to change all the plugs anymore than change all the cylinders. Why are you changing all your plugs?
  20. Maxwell did my annual and I waited a couple of months to get them from the factory. No real short cuts to this problem if your serial # is in the AD that I am aware of.
  21. Excellent work
