  1. My lap belt stays on the shoulder comes off.
  2. My left shoulder belt is click and forget and it disconnects from the lap belt. Not trying to be obtuse maybe I am missing something I just don’t get the inertial wheel belt (unless multiple folks are sitting left seat).
  3. For my own curiosity why an inertial wheel for the left seat? Mine is fixed and adjusted for me and it comes off when cruise checklist is complete (about 26’ AGL which is 25’ after gear retraction). Would seem right seat with varying passengers would benefit more. I love nothing more than sitting in a 150F plane helping my “co-pilot” navigate adjusting the should strap.
  4. I have to say as additional to anyone. Starlink is the like the coolest thing ever. I literally flush $120 a month down the toilet so I can update my databases at my hanger. I love flipping to roam and going crazy places and firing it up. I was in middle of ND a couple of weeks ago and was downloading giant files in the middle of a pasture for no reason other than I could. This body maybe turning into old man material but my heart beats as a 12yr old. Frogs and Starlinks beware. I highly recommend it for anyone and as noted you can buy the hardware, deactivate, and in an emergency fire it up (just update firmware every so often which is free).
  5. Maxwell did mine in June of 23, pretty sure they were done last with the SWTA cowling. Looks very nice now. Makes zero difference in any sort of cooling. This is one of those things I am not certain the squeeze is worth the juice. PS I have a set of @Gee Bee Aeroproducts baffling that I intended to put on myself but just let Paul and folks do it. I would echo it’s a quality product.
  6. Got to get out and touch the skyline! This is believe it or not is on a IFR clearance into 06C (East to West over top of ORD) when I was commuting between 47N and Chi town. At 0230 they let you do anything.
  7. I get 55-67 watts off the panel (Jackery SolarSaga 80). The Starlink draws 50-60. I have Gen-2 and went from residential to roam back to residential for the trip.
  8. In the grand scheme of things aviation seems pretty cheap to me. I can’t wait to get them and spend 9hrs at FL250!
  9. In the email they clarify the FAA allows an STC holder to install their own parts. A kit that a 3rd party installs however requires PMA approval which they don’t have yet.
  10. As the original poster I want to make clear that this STC does not come with Jose’s “relief tube”. Hope Jose is doing well and miss his posts.
  11. Apologies for inserting a picture the website wasn’t liking copy/paste formatting Looks like long range tanks are back
  12. Replacement for Motorola 625-61623 and I am assuming the Motorola part is mechanical? Trying to trouble shoot an intermittent charging issue.
  13. I need at least a day stop and possible overnight in Miami next week (coming out of KEYW if there are any lobsterfest folks give a holler). What is the best. Looks like Signature at TMB? KEYW is $38 handling and $36 a night now so happy for that.
  14. It’s decent, KSAN to KSAV far as I know is the winner.
  15. I am not joining any club with folks from Alabama.
  16. E85 to my understanding starts to have issues at 40F and below.
  17. I bought two of these in 2019 still going strong. I notice no longer available on Amazon but brand seems to be ok. They go really fast. I got this cool scar at 09J from one!
  18. My understanding is ethanol starts to break down at higher altitudes due to temps and pressure. It isn’t a detonation concern just the fuel itself breaks apart.
  19. @Jakes Simmons I feel made the most definitive post. Fly any 4 banger (Mooney or otherwise) with a 3 bladed prop and then with a 2 bladed. You will come to the same conclusion.
  20. 71, Moss Supercharger, good/cheap internals. Road cam (can’t remember numbers) that pulls great above 3K in 3/4 on the Highway. The real dollars are in the brakes/suspension, I eat everything running Blood Mountain.
  21. Supercharger 8.8:1 with 5lbs boost with cast pistons and decent but cheap internals. I have a friend that has now 10k miles on a bone stock (with we are guessing 100k miles on the motor) running 30lb turbo. He has actively been working to destroy the engine and is failing. To clarify my original post 10K and below would in my small mind work for E85. Altitude and temperature are the big challenges to 100LL. Working on limiting either or both would be a reasonable middle ground. Most don’t fly above 10K or below 0F.
  22. No it was in response to auto racing (follow the thread), don’t be obtuse. That being said till I am guessing about 10K you could get away with E85 in an airplane. I could probably get another 20-30HP in the MG shifting to E85 but I am lazy.
  23. E85 is 100-105 octane. It is moonshine gas, not an ethanol additive to mogas. If you are racing these days it is the way to go, crank that advance.
  24. What is the max and what does it go to when you level off and lean for cruise? Are you saying it goes to 220-230 in the climb and doesn’t reduce for cruise? Are you still running mineral oil, total hours on overhaul, how long since last oil change?
