  1. Challenger 300 APU
  2. What setting on the air hammer do you recommend?
  3. I think many are going with reseal feedback here versus patch. In most cases a patch suffices and a reseal is not needed. People treat tanks like cylinders, 1 goes bad and the solution is a TOP. IRAN is always the answer.
  4. I dial back to 2600, it’s quieter and it climbs at the same rate.
  5. Could be her or she was an idiot, just a story I “heard”.
  6. I heard of an F that once took 65.5 gallons after a flight.
  7. Overall probably the F. The J is better but the purchase price these days is almost double for a couple of knots. The turbo variants are nice but not worth the capital nor the maintenance in my opinion. Many have the useful load issue as well.
  8. Haha I do spend some time there. I think we can all agree Bonanza owners are “different”.
  9. The Mooney roll cage/wing spar is just as much an OWT as the tail falling off Bonanza’s. Bonanza’s are better in every way over a Mooney minus two things. Initial purchase price and then cost per mile. The latter of the two is mostly fuel burn which for anyone who has owned a plane knows is your cheapest expense each year. I am also a huge Comanche fan but lack of parts and price make those less attractive these days. Don’t fall in love with anything. Pick a few varieties and when you find the right one, at the right price, and the right condition your choice is made. I looked for Comanches, Bonanza’s, and Mooney’s. Just so happened that the exact Mooney type I wanted (run out engine, 67 F, Ray Jay, good history) came up at the right price. If it had been a Bonanza I would spend less time on this forum (and honestly I wanted the Comanche). Cheers!
  10. The Bonanza is a better plane in my opinion. It just costs a lot more, hence why I fly a Mooney.
  11. Light a cigarette and then open the storm window. You will see the pressure differential.
  12. Might tight armed turned 54 yesterday, still hasn’t let me down.
  13. 320 which was the first turbo version of 310, no issue with door open. It is same as Mooney it’s just cracked a bit didn’t notice really anything other than noise. The mighty AC560 though you could open close door with relative ease. It was great. Strap into the bench and pop the door to drop flour bombs with high precision.
  14. As a proud owner of a super charged 1971 MGB I have the receipts to prove your theory fact.
  15. 1980 something newly minted PPL flew at night with a friend for lakeshore tour. Got lost and remembered DPA VOR so I tuned it in overflew ORD then overflew DPA to the VOR. Then I turned around to fly east back to 06C. I reminded myself that I would enter DPA’s so better call them. Tower advised a few folks have been looking for me. Called the # on an payphone and whoever the person on the other end was couldn’t have been better. My friend who was along for the ride never realized anything was going on. He bought me a couple beers afterwards as my reward for giving him the ride.
  16. Ratchet straps and when needed The Claw tie down (use straps with it). Straps are easy.
  17. I have a RayJay and I rarely go high because the winds really need to be blowing and the trip has to be long to beat 6000-9000 feet. Without a turbo it would be once in a lifetime that climbing up in the teens is ever going to work. Certainly you can do it and there are people here who have taken NA Mooney’s into the FL’s for fun but not really for practicality.
  18. I recommend a refrigerator with Heinekens in it, let me know when you get it. I will stop by to borrow some of those tools you bought (probably never give them back), borrow a case of that oil, and drink all your Heineken.
  19. Thanks John sent you a DM these things are unobtanium.
  20. The idea of a big plastic bag of O2 in my backseat would be a bit concerning. Do you really need to fly at FL240 with pets?
  21. Anyone got a line on where to get the Teflon HE1517 seals these days?
