Where in the maintenance manual is the settings and procedures for the gear up alarm? Changed throttle cable and I've been looking for it.

Great, good luck and goo flying. I'm always happy to see an underused and neglected plane put back into the air.

I'm manly a flat lander but I did spend some time in Idaho Falls flying in that region during the summer and fall time frames. Certainly a different feel taking off in the afternoon sometimes I would check to make sure the engine was still running. Most of my flights were full fuel and solo. Density altitude does make a difference.

McFarlane is making new ones for my 67F. I sent the throttle and mixture cable to them and they completed the form. 48166 Custom Form with dims for ref..pdf

There are those here who have done just that. Not impossible but not necessarily the best idea either. You can get behind the plane easier with the K than with a 152 or 172. Insurance will be very high check that out before you buy. You should think about what your mission is after you get your PPL and make sure the K is a good fit. Being an owner and student pilot at the same time could get overwhelming

They introduced it in 2017 at SnF looks like an updated version of their previous models. No mention of auto identifying the VOR you have tuned in which would be nice.

Turned out to be the pressure sensor. Changed that an issue went away.

Welcome aboard and congrats on the new ride. A few years ago I drove though Dillion, MT on my way to Virginia, City. I also flew over it in my Mooney to Deer lodge city. Work had me in Idaho Falls for 9 months. Hopefully you have a heated hangar.

Don Wow 32 times!!! Sweet hope you continue having fun out there.

JMHO Pre J models in good flying condition you are in the ballpark $40 to $70 or $80k depending on condition and avionics. J's usually more but again condition and avionics will determine a lot. Yes buying a flying aircraft is much better than one that ahs been sitting. Buying a project is a good way to sell your time into the plane. I always applaud someone willing to take on a project and get a lonely neglected plane back into the air.

Cool. It should be flying about 100 to 200AGL doing detailed 3Dscans with a 500' to 1000' radius from the rover to help plan out the next rover move. Just my $0.02 for what it's worth.

Other than engine time and selling are there any other reasons you are wanting to do the TOH? Have you been able to do a good bore scope of the cylinders looking at the valves? Do they look good? Are the compressions good? Is the engine is running well? Are the oil filter inspections are clean? Leave it alone and sell it as a good running high time engine. You will spend close to $10k on TOH and maybe increase the value of the plane by $5k. If you were keeping the plane maybe the TOH would be worth it. Some have claimed to run the engines to 2500+ hours with no issues.

I have avoided commercial flights not because I am afraid but because of all the added BS associated with flying commercial today. I have traveled to places when I wanted and traveled for work driving and flying my Mooney.. I believe that everyone is free to choose to get vaccinated or not. Nobody should be coerced, intimidated, bullied or discriminated against if they have been vaccinated or not. Vaccine passports, different lines, seating areas etc. should not be required or done this is discrimination and is illegal. The same goes for religion, race, sex, type of plane owned etc. Are you afraid of covid? Take care of yourself and get the vaccine period. Once you have been vaccinated become unafraid and go back to living your life. Decreasing demand for the vaccines are the citizens speaking to the gov't saying get out of my life. Coercion, bullying etc. will only make those hesitant to get the vaccine dig their heels in further. I choose to avoid businesses and places that still insist on telling me to wear a mask just as I have done for the past year. Am I vaccinated??? I'm not sharing that information that is personal health information between me and my doctors. Everyone has the right to do what they think is best for themselves.

Looking for help with a 61 M20B in Glendale, AZ
1964-M20E replied to a topic in Vintage Mooneys (pre-J models)
Take advantage of the help offered and go look. Right now looking doesn't cost you anything. Some planes you know instantly you are not going to buy when the hangar door opens other require a little more probing. My first E the paint was rough, interior dated, avionics old but decent and it flew well. -
Interesting TFR in NE Gulf of Mexico
1964-M20E replied to 1964-M20E's topic in Miscellaneous Aviation Talk
The are procreating and moving around in the gulf. Maybe they need multiple targets incase they miss the first one. -
I'd go with the PCU but I already did last year. I will be moving it to my new engine over the next couple of weeks.

If I remember to look I'm sure I have one. Hopefully, I can find it -
Anyone know what this knob does?

looks like a custom instrument panel with screen printing. Nice! -
Field OH about 22AMUs but that was with a new crank at 5AMUs . I'm in the process of removing and installing now. The good thing about the field OH was being there while the wrenches were being turned, assisting with AD research and dealing with shipping parts to the appropriate shops. I am a hands on person.

@Grubi Welcome aboard. When I had my E model I replaced the generator with the plane power 70A alternator due to the generator failing. I chose not to replace the alternator breaker which was I believe 50A. The total electrical load was less than 50A. If you want to get the full output from a 70A alternator you will need to change the alternator circuit breaker to 70A as well and evaluate the size of the wire from the alternator to the main bus. The front baffling on my E had to be modified to fit the new alternator. You may not experience this since you already have an alternator. As stated above I would try to find the real problem instead of changing parts until it is corrected. A simple but very inexpensive effective first step when experiencing problems like this is to clean and reassemble every connection between the battery and the starter. Would be to measure resistance across the master relay and the start relay to make sure neither of these are causing any issues. You already replaced the battery so unless it is infant mortality you are good there. Finally there are plenty of good people here that have experienced just about any problem anyone else will have and they offer plenty of free advice some is better than others but all well intentioned. good luck and do not be shy about asking questions.

Interesting TFR in NE gulf. I guess they are retrieving a first stage booster? However, it says rocket launch. Any of our Mooney rocket owners doing operations from an aircraft carrier?
