    Don't laugh, it took 700 flight hours and 12.5 years. . Finally filled the last line tonight. It seems like just yesterday that I was flying the 172 over middle Georgia with my CFI.

    good deal. I was going to say it was probably a bad capacitor. I had the same symptoms, and that's what it turned out to be in my case.

    It was/is the first and only plane I've owned. My recommendation is not to do your primary training in one, mainly to protect the plane. LOL. The short bodies (A-E) would be great for 1 or 2 people.

    I would be glad to let you look at what I have, but I believe the engine differences would make it apples and oranges.

    I have a J cowl on my C. Unfortunately the STC references a diagram that I don't have.

    Wouldn't the @Sabremech cowl be a more straightforward option? Currently supported.

    I don't think anything could make it worse. Maybe they will try to prod them into being more consumer friendly and competitive.

    That was always my thinking, but at one of the mooney summits, I believe they said gear down for energy dissipation except in a water landing? Am I remembering wrong? 50/50 on my memory.
