  1. I didn't realize that. The way the reservoir was designed, I though the flaps would give out before you lost brakes. Interesting to know.
  2. I agree, but I also think your scan accommodates whatever is in front. My PFD is slightly off center, but I don't notice it. Same with reading the altimeter and air speed. Weird at first, but second nature now.
  3. especially when you're driving someplace hours away knowing you'd already be there in the plane.
  4. I kicked around getting a different plane but came to the realization that this plane met all of my mission needs. As long as I can maintain a medical and can walk up on a wing, I'll be flying it. That's made the idea of throwing money at the panel more palatable. If I were planning to swap planes in the next few years, I'd be hard pressed to get anything beyond what I needed.
  5. I think it's just an educated guess. The two main vaccines were supposed to be 54 and 95% effective after 1 and 2 shots respectively, but I've read articles where these number range quite a bit in real world circumstances according to the CDC. The original numbers were based on values obtained during the studies. Obviously no one can give honest black and white answers right now.
  6. 65 C model>> other mooneys. I think this sums it up.
  7. Yep, I think the infection rates for both dentists and hygienists are well below the national average.
  8. My memory from school is foggy at best, but wouldn't additional exposures enhance your immune response? The cases of people getting second positives, maybe their first episode was mild and didn't build up enough memory cells? Just thinking out loud.
  9. I've been tracking covid cases closely with georgia dept of health, and I've always said I wanted to compare flu cases after the numbers are crunched. I felt a lot of flu cases were labeled as covid, especially before tests were readily available. Anyway, dentists were clumped with frontline workers, so I was able to get my shots fairly early. I jumped at the opportunity. Interesting fact is that no confirmed cases of dental office to patient transmissions have been documented. I know it doesn't mean it hasn't happened, but I thought it would be a bigger issue.
  10. Garmin definitely has integration down to a science, but either GPS will move your plane light years ahead of where it is now. I have a 430W and plane to go with Avidyne when the time comes since it's a simple swap. Starting from scratch, I'd prob go Garmin.
  11. Obviously, they are doing something right since they're king of the hill at the moment, but it does kinda rub you the wrong way. I've had good customer support from Bose from aviation and non-aviation issues. Same with Electronics International. Some companies seem like they really try to make you happy. Others, not so much.
  12. don't be dramatic. It's only been 9 years, 6 months.
  13. Precisely, I've had my plane 10 years and get oil here and there, but I know it's history.
  14. Not exactly the Rocky mountains, but the Smokies are nice, too. Return trip from Blue Ridge, GA.
  15. what momme silk?
  16. I can't. Just like the guy in zoolander, I'm a hand model.
  17. When I first had it upgraded, I got notifications through the audio panel. I just realized I wasn't getting them anymore. Is there a setting in the Aspen for the alerts, or is it something I need to reset in the audio panel? btw, it's a 2500 MAX and PMA 450. It's under warranty, but I'd rather not fly back to the shop if it's something I can check myself. Thanks.
  18. Used it yesterday. Works well but the concave windows make mounting spots a little difficult. Overall it's helpful for sun coming in from the sides. I don't see how I can mount it on windshield. I think I'd go with cling film if I were to do it again.
  19. Landed in ellijay, ga. Spending the weekend in blue ridge.
  20. I agree. Get it airworthy. It's already got a runout engine, so the buyer will be expecting that. Any additional flying time with that engine would be considered extra.
  21. Unless someone else says they steal the water from the FBO, you're the Mooney CB winner for today.
  22. Several posts in the past. I think most people use plexus, some use Pledge. I've been using Pledge for years, and it's worked fine.
  23. Well that is good to know. Thanks!
  24. I don't have a good place. I attach it to my clipboard for now.
