  1. Well dang. I just placed an order with spruce.
  2. https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/cspages/ultrawingwalk.php?gclid=CjwKCAjw2Jb7BRBHEiwAXTR4jRX4-Uj-MAdY2_Cj0JwrjgIGmgkmtDpVA-EEYFDW4rynPLwbD_F8VxoC8_gQAvD_BwE My wing walk is faded, and it's time to refresh. I've tried the $26 stuff at spruce. Works fine but IMO fades faster than I'd like. Does this stuff hold its color better? It's more expensive but that doesn't always mean it's better.
  3. True. Good luck squeezing money from us. We'd go back to using the telegraph before paying ransomware for a website. Hello STOP I've got corrosion in my wing spar STOP Any suggestions STOP
  4. That would explain why I couldn't program your airport into my 430.
  5. Congrats. Mine is also a '65 model. . It's amazing that something could hold up so well 55 years later.
  6. I thought the same people who ransomwared Garmin got to mooneyspace.
  7. I'd love to know if someone slammed into terrain because they used the "less safe" database. I'm not a Garmin fanboy, but sounds like BS.
  8. Yeah, I went Garmin, but since I had to buy the reader, no savings realized until the next year. Only advantage I saw with jeppesen is that you can download to your PC and transfer to the card at the airport. Not worth $69.
  9. My 2 cents:. I'd go with the portable option. I did it for years and only stepped up to the 345 when I got my Aspen displays. IMO the 430/530 don't display adsb near as well as an ipad.
  10. The handle coming loose was a non-event fortunately. I was ready to use my feet for a Fred Flinstone landing.
  11. I've had my system for a couple years. Never had a failure, but did get the restarts, maybe 5 times total. Had new firmware installed and been good since. I got the upgrades at $2k apiece AND I wanted the ability to remove my vacuum system. Given the increased upgrade price and the fact you don't care about removing your vacuum, I can't really come up with a compelling reason to do it besides the new warranty.
  12. No need to rub it in.
  13. Thanks for the clarification.
  14. I don't believe so but I may be wrong. The cirrus have them hidden, and I thought my avionics guy said he could hide mine somewhere.
  15. You can blind mount the STEC turn coordinator. That frees up another slot on the pilot side. Personally, I would get rid of the DME, too.
  16. Paul, when are you going to install that second Aspen panel?
  17. My son loves droids, so I've inherited his old phones. I'm currently using a pixel and TBH, I don't miss the iPhone. BUT I really miss having foreflight available any time I need it. I use it on my ipad, and I need wifi or else create a hotspot. First world problems.
  18. Make sure to get a decent power supply. IIRC, they're pulling a little more power than the 2000 series. My son has a 2080ti, and he's wanting the 3090 for his birthday. He's bummed bc the new cards crushed resale for his 2080ti.
  19. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00SEK6XN6?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title I used these for my 5 gallon cans. It says in there what size drill you need. It's an oddball size. Edit. It's a 31/64" drill bit.
  20. I would guess someone is nearby, but @AGL Aviation is a mooney service center in morganton, and they have quite a bit of mooney traffic.
  21. Heck, that screwdriver probably works in half the mooney door locks and ignitions.
  22. Nothing says you've got class more than wedging a sheet of paper between the windshield and plastic trim to act as a sunscreen.
  23. Everything is foldable if you push hard enough.
  24. If you're using chrome, you can go to the dots in the top right and select desktop site. This will let you see the notifications bit they'll be tiny. Then you can swap back. Not ideal but works.
  25. I think '65 or so is a cutoff. For some reason I thought they were available shortly after my plane's year.
