  1. I thought I had the market cornered on frankenstein panels. I'm in the same boat. Want to do one in an off white when I get my AP and engine monitor decisions made.
  2. My last annual was there, also. He found my tail was waaay out of adjustment. I've owned the plane for 10 years.... He also fixed an issue with my flaps that the last IA couldn't solve.
  3. Just don't change it to LandedgearupRookie.
  4. I agree with AGL or cole. Been to both, and they know Mooneys well. Need someone to do a thorough job to save you some potential heartache later.
  5. Same here. Bought it at lowes I believe.
  6. true dat
  7. I want to see pics of his flying circus.
  8. I was going to guess somewhere in southeast. Mine looks the same.
  9. It sounds like you need/soon will need an IFR bird with some cross country capability. The C is great. I love mine, but bargain C models can get you in the wallet later. Maybe partner with someone to get a nice one.
  10. That's lovely. Hopefully your anticorrosion measures will keep the salt water from causing too much issue inside your plane.
  11. I know this is small consolation, but it may not have been salt water. Unless it was spray from the ocean itself, the rain from the hurricane is prob fresh water. Still cringy though. Did all that come through the avionics panels?
  12. mine was the steering horn. Replacing it got rid of the shimmy. I could also tell my rudder had less play in it during preflight.
  13. Answer: it's a PITA I changed the headliner because a few of the areas were not looking so great. It's not a difficult job, but it's definitely trying to the back and finger tips. I plan to get a redo at some point once the panel is completed, but I just couldn't stand the headliner any more. I'm pretty happy with the results, but I don't think Aerocomfort or Hector need to worry about me putting them out of business.
  14. I had to change mine, too. They seem to come from Garmin with no backlight for night flying.
  15. Wow. That's just sad to see.
  16. I've met a few outside of the summit. I had one contact me prior to a summit, and I messaged a few others that were passing through the area. It's an oddly close knit community of plane owners in a good way.
  17. One silver lining is that they tend to last longer in short bodies.
  18. knock on wood x10, but mine has been solid since the firmware upgrade. I hope I didn't jinx myself.
  19. Any wagers on whether or not the guy had a license and insurance? It's 50/50 here in georgia.
  20. I saw that, and at higher temps it burns. I use vaseline to help me breathe at night, and I never thought about it being flammable even though the word "petroleum" is in it.
  21. I had to google it, but it says vaseline isn't flammable. Good point though. I don't use oxygen so it didnt even cross my mind.
  22. I think what happens is my camera takes multiple pics, and I don't catch it. So it's not a movie per se, but I think the page sees it as a video.
  23. My neighbor developed red/green color blindness after 26 years in the air force. I didn't know that was a thing either.
  24. That makes sense about the weight. My J cowl doesn't seem to carry much heft. Are the cowls for long bodies made of aluminum?
  25. Gotta love a tailwind. TBH, I feel like I deserved it. It seems like I'm flying into the wind 90% of the time. Coming back from the blue ridge mountains. Doing 190 knots around Atlanta traffic is the way to go.
