  1. This. I have the 2500 MAX and an STEC50. Works great but no direct communication with the Garmin AP if I decide to switch. As far as the Aspens, I absolutely love them. No experience with the G3 to compare.
  2. Like @carusoammentioned, start your own thread and include your location. Mooney guys love showing off their planes. Prob could get someone nearby to take you up.
  3. I'm pretty much saying what everyone mentioned. I went with the 3 Aspen MAX panels. I like having the reversion capability between the MFD and PFD. I also enjoy having a third screen to display traffic, weather or whatever. I recently landed at KORL doing an ILS 25. It was almost like cheating compared to my pre-Aspen days. The nice thing is that I can continue flying if my vac pump fails. Honestly, its only reason for being hooked up at this point is for my retractable step. As @Marauder mentioned, the tape with airspeeds and altitude took some time but not much. It's just a matter or reprogramming your scan.
  4. you need to rotate the air in your tires.
  5. Congrats! You're not too far from @Hank's neck of the woods.
  6. I believe it's $10 minimum
  7. There's something I'm missing, too. Maybe it's the relatively short duration, maybe the altitude has so mething to do with it, but -40* is friggin cold. If metabolism simply slowed, you'd have a whole bunch of people thawing in the spring instead of dying from hypothermia in the winter.
  8. My memory is a little hazy, but I think this is what happened when the baggage door popped open. It was terrifying.
  9. @carusoam in 20 bullet points or less, can you tell us how well your lunch with @201er went?
  10. what does your IA think about it? I'm curious, too.
  11. My previous alternator ran 13.7-13.8. I had it and the voltage regulator replaced, and they read 13.7-13.8.
  12. that's a great price for a MAX system. It should still be under warranty until at least August 2022, shouldn't it?
  13. My factory gauges have never worked great, but I have noticed this. When I fill up tanks, I usually tell them to stop a 1/4" from the top. Otherwise, it will sometimes blow fuel out the vents. I don't know if that's a bladder thing or if sealed tanks do the same thing.
  14. @Alan FoxI've got an altimeter.
  15. I've seen him on the mooney facbook sites.
  16. That's exactly what came to my mind, too! Good ole George.
  17. I own a dental office, and we've had to shop around to different vendors for gloves, masks and even toothbrushes occasionally due to inventory shortages. A local Walmart ran out of bags It's a crazy time to say the least.
  18. Very clean and functional. It literally looks like it could have rolled off the factory assembly line.
  19. yeah, I've been guilty of that, too.
  20. On the stec50 there is a small hole in one of the units on the panel that allows adjustment with a small hex head tool.
  21. My plane came with a Gill battery when I first bought it. I replaced it after a year or so. It appeared to be 4 years old based on the date written on the battery. I installed a Concorde which gave me 6 years. Could have gone longer but I could tell the prop was turning slower when starting. Replaced it with another Concorde. Since I have a 14v system, I use a car float charger. It works great.
  22. Lynn found my tail was out of spec. He's the first person to ever say anything about it. Got my trim setting correct on the gauge.
  23. From what I've heard, there is little gain over the J cowl as far as speed. Correct me if I'm wrong. It looks pretty modern and cool though.
