  1. While you are in there, check the resistance of the spark plugs. There has been some discussion here lately on the topic.... Best regards, -a-
  2. Back in the early 90's, the same data was requested. It was post the first Iraqui war. It seemed very unusual for the time. Only thing different, it was a paper file under lock and key? -a-
  3. Great video Jolie. The Ovation really stands out in an already fast moving crowd! -a-
  4. Byron, tuned port on the ’87 camaro looks a lot like balanced intake on my '94 IO-550! If I could get some electronic ignition, not the 90’s opti spark though. That is known to die every 60k miles. I have one apart in my driveway currently.... The optical encoder gets dirty and fails to plan B....Then croaks during high humidity weather. My dream engine is my current ride + electronic ignition. Imagine selecting your timing, 20 or 25 degrees, by clicking on your mouse, or blue tooth iPad thing...? I have simple dreams. -a-
  5. Funny...the 94 is their newest version, I think? Maybe they're coming out with a new version with vertical guidance for GPS approaches? -a-
  6. José, I didn't know if I was buying or selling. No problem. If I accidentally receive a pm, I will try and reroute it to you... -a-
  7. CFI, I am serious. I have worn out three firebirds since '87, grew two children in the back of a ’95 firebird, but they got too big after a decade in the back of a C. Teenagers... Trips in the firebird were kept under an hour. I moved all of my worldly goods in those vehicles....at that age, i didn't have much! When finances allow, the Ovation is similar to a Tahoe. Very comfortable.... If it fits in the firebird, it will fit in a C If it fits in a Tahoe, it will fit in an Ovation (but only four seats). Best regards, -a-
  8. C is a great first Mooney... 1) throttle out and gear up, causes horn on. 2) not a lot of room in the back seats for a long haul. It is Firebird like back there. Kids fit great. Adults, only if they already like aviation... My opinion only... Best regards, -a- David posted above, while I was still typing. I must be the slow typer...
  9. SOLD send me a PM (I don't how to do it) Send the PM to Piloto aka José
  10. I happen to like Jimmy. Back in the 90s, He informed me about Mooneys free of charge. The first Mooney, I bought locally. My real Mooney, I bought with Jimmy's professional help... The guy who built/sold me a headset, I met here. The guy that sold me an iPad app, I met here. The guy who intends to build/sell me a glass cockpit, one device at a time, is here. The guy who i use for flight instruction... Here. The guy I use for maint... Here. The guy I sold my old airplane to is here as well. My favorite company, MAC, still here.... Please, make no changes, unless they are obvious improvements. Commitment, consistency and quality drives these folks. I support them when possible. Your mileage may vary.... Best regards, -a-
  11. Jimmy, Is your "quick reply" not working right? It's the one at the bottom of the page.... Then use the submit button... If you use the edit function, the submit button is mis labeled as "edit" or something like that... Best regards, -a-
  12. That mounts nicely in the M20R panel. Need to see a JPI 830 upgrade in there as well? Best regards, -a-
  13. Welcome to the club... Best regards, -a-
  14. Expect that each ADF is resident in the database As a waypoint on Garmin equipment (and others). If your Garmin is working, you would probably use it, in the US. I still use my ADF for AM radio reception, although the background noise can be bothersome. With iPad availability, even this skill is making ADFs not very desirable... Of course, after a couple years of IR flying I have not used my ADF. Unless an unusual emergency eliminated several other radios and left my ADF working.... My strike finder gets used more often. Do you only have space for one or the other? Best regards, -a-
  15. Shawn, welcome to the "old" MooneySpace. The "new" MooneySpace won't have login errors. expect that the same people will still be around in the new one though. Remember to make a donation to the site for improvements, if you haven't done so already... Donations come in two forms, financial and knowledge. Both are appreciated! Best regards, -a-
  16. Justin, Good question...., Unfortunately, the answer I know, is quick, low cost replacement. My plane lives outside, so water in the gauge is somewhat expected... I forgot to hold on to the old ones to try and dry them out. They come out easily enough. I hope this gets you closer to a real answer... Best regards, -a-
  17. Great news. Steve, nicely done. All the best. I hope you and your Mrs have a quick recovery , and that the Globe doesn't chase you around next... Best regards, -a-
  18. Norwood KOWD used to have an MSC. I have not used them though... Best regards, -a-
  19. Looks better than brand new, Byron. -a-
  20. Consider Chicago. It made a nice escape for three days avoiding an east coast hurricane last year... Best regards, -a-
  21. I recall seeing the panel mounted device. With the portable devices. It takes me about 15 seconds to get a reading. The devices floats on my finger tip. Trying to get a reading at arm's length in turbulence sounds challenging. I would like panel mounted O2, but the portable O2 sensor sound a little more user friendly... Maybe the panel mounted device has a better technology than my portable... Best regards, -a-
  22. Since we're on the topic. Key topic of Mooney go arounds... Full power with full flaps and trimmed for landing, causes a full nose up condition quickly, remember to control the nose while making the other pressure reducing and drag reducing adjustments..... Anyone else remember this one??? . Best regards, -a-
