  1. Another WingX update. 9/29/12. Including updates for writing on IFR procedures. Best regards, -a-
  2. In the 65'C.... The tube on the generator cooling shroud ran directly forward to an inlet at the front of the cowling. The landing light is in the same general area. This is a four year old memory. So verify it's accuracy a bit... Hope this gets you in the right direction... Best regards, -a-
  3. Wow TomK, That's quite an interesting spacer you've got there in your picture. I wasn't expecting to see a need for such a large device. Does it meet a specific requirement that is required by the Aspen? You are right about the photos being helpful. Best regards, -a-
  4. I'd like to suggest a topic...? It would be nice to see a presentation of glass panel options, JPI or EI, or maybe the paint guys..... I'm not buying yet, but moving slowly forward... Best regards, -a-
  5. PilotBob, Work with a good AME. Things have changed a bit over the last few years. Without sharing too much, you can ask his experience with similar issues as you may have and how to best handle them. For example, High blood pressure, stents and anti coagulants can be acceptable medications. Even heart attacks don't necessarily keep you from flying. (I am not a doctor, but I have recent experience talking with many of them) Check AOPA list of medications to be sure. Seek professional help. It does exist. Don't fly slower than you need to. Best regards, -a-
  6. Is a turbine any better? Or just too expensive? -a-
  7. From the NJ side of the equation.. Teterboro is closest, but busiest as a reliever for corporate jets. But still usable. Fairfield, Essex County, Class D. Easy in/out. Last hangar of JFK Jr. Linden, just south of Newark. unhappy customers on this site from years ago Expect rental cars at all of them for realistic personal transportation... Best regards, -a-
  8. ++ Cliff and Brenda. They recently (last year) gave me advice (who pays for what) on moving an aircraft out of the way of a hurricane. Something east coasters and gulf people may want to be aware of. Best regards, -a-
  9. Gary, I found the thread.... Everyone, Have you introduced yourself? Best regards, -a-
  10. Gary, It were two details that reminded me of trouble I had in the past. He is new here, I believe. So I went with welcome aboard... I hope he stays around and can offer more, and maybe introduce himself. Where's that link where we introduced ourselves? That fell to the back of the pile somewhere... Best regards, -a-
  11. Fortunate.... The word I use to describe people working and living in the Bend, Oregon area. I had the opportunity to visit a company out that way last year. It is beautiful. Best regards, -a-
  12. Welcome aboard to the_wrench, Your technical knowledge/details are deep. Best regards, -a-
  13. Aerobat, "I see you are located in NJ? Where abouts? I grew up in Sayreville and flew of KBLM ........" PM sent. Best regards, -a-
  14. How long was the above poster stuck in Teterboro? Long enough to design, build and produce a music video! Fabulous skills, my friend! Best regards -a-
  15. Consider trying the electric first... Option 1: it fails over time, then convert it. Make sure you test the manual system before going to failure.... Option 2: you like the motorized version...... You just might. Just sayin'..., How's your search progressing, what have you found? Best regards, -a-
  16. Some seats are more adjustable than others too. In my plane we set the height of our eyeballs with seat height and back angle. Using the proper headset is a really good idea. 6’, shory legs... -a-
  17. Andrew, Great support! Thanks for bringing the other side of the situation. Best regards, -a-
  18. A completely new harness may be a good idea. Talk to your installer to see what your choices are. I would seriously consider leaving most of it in place in my plane. That probably means that the back seaters might not get stereo in their headsets... Best regards, -a–
  19. Don, Thinking out loud... Is there a fuse in it's plug that may have blown? -a–
  20. Good question, can you use existing wiring from a previous existing panel? Or do you need to install all new? Is the shop familiar with your current radios? Or do they need to research all the connections? Running wires to all the seats is time consuming. Best regards, -a-
  21. Thanks Brian, I don't have much Internet experience to that extent. That would have taken at least another month to figure that out on my own. Best regards, -a-
  22. Congrats. Enjoy getting to know your new bird. Best regards, -a-
  23. Thanks Craig, Tapping the dot works, but generated a new question... Sometimes there is a star in place of the dot. What does that indicate? Best regards, -a-
  24. Stephen, Not trying to.... My only experience on valves was a stuck/bent one in a lyc O-360 that sat too long prior to my purchase. My engineering senses would have me looking a little deeper, like you indicated, while your mechanic is in there. There is some TLS/Bravo experience on this site that may be more fitting/helpful. Best regards, -a-
  25. Cut half of old PMs out. Experimenting with hovering procedure today to find my unread items. Thanks again Craig. I've learned a few things today about web sites, instrument installation, engine break in, and valve springs. I've been impressed by Dr. Stephen's speed collection...again. You have done a great job! Thanks, -a-
