  1. I recently had Terry Gerber of KC Headsets repair an issue with one of my older Bose X headsets. The service was excellent. Once he received the headset he evaluated the unit and then called me about what needed repairing and the cost. All in was less then $200. I highly recommend Terry for headset repairs. 2. I had the same problem last week with a new SD card in my GTN650. Lee
  3. I don’t know how to edit these posts, but wanted to add that this video was taken on my shake down flight and the airspeed and slip-skid ball had not been adjusted to match other instruments. Adjustment is simple. Lee
  4. IMG_1536.MOV I have an AV-30C as an attitude indicator in my Citabria and it works great. Installation is minimal; I did it in a day and I’m slow. A lot of my install time was removing and re-installing the front seat. Attached video shows the unit in action. Lee
  5. I used Kelly a couple of years ago. Good service and turn around time. No issues with the mag. Lee
  6. A few years ago at about 1,500 hours I want to replace the spring in my ‘92 J. I had the the plessey actuator and I couldn’t find a spring. I ended up buying a used Eaton actuator and sending it to laser for overhaul. This is an expensive way to replace the spring! Lee
  7. I recently removed a Sigma-Tek 5000b from my Citabria to make room for an AV30c (great product). If anyone needs one, The Sigma-Tek is for sale, $350 plus shipping. I believe it came with the airplane from the factory in 1995. I post on eBay in a few days if no interest here. Lee
  8. Just speculating, but it may have been this airplane. Closer to 20ga than Kpuj though. https://flightaware.com/live/flight/N3284F/history/20211108/1754Z/20GA/L 33.79935 -84.91070 lee
  9. It appears an M20F crashed today near the Paulding County (kpuj) airport west of Atlanta. The news is reporting one fatality, but no other information. https://www.ajc.com/news/breaking-single-engine-plane-crashes-in-paulding/GEREHUN37ND2HIHT4GGQZIFQV4/ Lee
  10. In 1969 I was 14 year old kid working at the local airport when a transient Taylorcraft ground looped and nosed over. The only damage was a bent prop. The FBO owner/mechanic/instructor had me take the prop off and we put it in a press, straightened the prop and re-installed. The guy flew home a couple hours after the prop strike. Times have changed. Lee
  11. Don, please let us know what you find. Lee
  12. My airpark has two Mooneys, my ‘92J and a ‘ 66C. Neither I us have had any issues or damage from flying on grass. With My heavier J I have to limit my TO weight for high temps and tailwinds (one way 3,000’ strip with significant slope.). Lee
  13. I installed an Av30 as an attitude indicator in my Citabria. Today I flew several 60 degree bank turns and several minutes of 30 banked turns and it worked perfectly. Extremely pleased with the unit. While mine is configured as an attitude indicator it also displays unslaved heading. The precession is comparable to a traditional un-slaved gyro. install took about 12 hours from unpacking the box until flying. This included actual install, building wiring harness, programming, etc. lee
  14. Are you sure it’s the gauge? I believe the gauge will indicator full scale if the sensor fails. Lee
  15. I’ve used CS3330B on screws with good success. Lee
  16. My son did this message with round hay bails about 15 years ago. I believe he said it took about 160 bails. Lee
  17. I’ve had an AV20s in my Citabria for a couple of years. AI works great and TAS is also right on. AOA is useless. Lee
  18. I second AGL for your pre-buy. Good people. Lee
  19. In my experience (I live under the ATL class B ) ATC rarely clears me thru Bravo when IFR but frequently I’m cleared thru when VFR. I’ve never been cleared thru CLT. Lee
  20. Looks like gold to me, but I’m color blind too with the waiver. Lee
  21. The classic “ screw under the wing walk leak” is an easy fix. Just remove the wing walk material at the leak, remove the screw, and coat with a little PRC and then put the screw back in. 30 minute job. A small tube of PRC is about $25. Lee
  22. I use fiberglass cloth and plumbers pvc pipe glue. It melts the fiberglass into the plastic and results in a strong bond. Anytime I have a panel off and it has cracks or screw hole issues I use this technique. Being doing it for over 30 yeArs on various airplanes. Lee
  23. We may be able to help if you have photos of the leak. Lee
  24. Rick, I have also have a ‘92 J. There are two 30 ohms resistive senders in each tank that are wired in series. You might have an issue with the senders at the lower end of the pot. You may want to remove the fuel gauge and check the resistance from the tank senders. You could have someone move the float arm up and down and see if the resistance is linear. if you believe it is a gauge issue, air parts of Lock Haven Pa does a good job repairing them. this link shows how it is set up. https://1drv.ms/u/s!ApFurD_oU_HRgf0rkFbyTru6GyiWvQ Lee
  25. I was thinking the same thing. Mine is either wide open or throttled back for landing. Lee
