Printed metal parts are indeed porous, that's why they are sintered after printing. This eliminates the matrix and shrinks the part ~25%. Shrinkage should be taken care of in the process, it's not something you need to worry about.
-
I've got a picture showing how far they open somewhere. This is what I can find right now. They are the same size on both sides of the nose gear.

Maybe that's why cowl flaps in later Cs, like my 1970 model, are fixed . . . .

Weird to approach a relative of a dead pilot?

No, dad had just bought an experimental biplane, came down steeply onto a highway intersection near the airport. Raged is trying to prevent another thread like this: -

^ ^ ^ ^ This. Then in a couple or three months, offer to give him a ride in memory of his father. -
Looking forward to it! My medical is in the plane every time I fly . . . .

We are now all waiting with bated breath for the unveiling!

Huh. Found this in my Inbox just now. Very timely release, maybe a few hours late. *************************** August 29, 2018 Dear loyal FltPlan user: Nineteen years ago, FltPlan was created to provide pilots with an accurate, reliable and integrated flight planning and filing service on the web. From there, FltPlan.com grew into the largest flight planning company in North America, creating 6.3 million flight plans annually. To our loyal customers that have supported us for nearly two decades, I am extremely grateful. Today begins a new chapter for us, as I am pleased to announce that FltPlan has been acquired by Garmin International, a leading provider of avionics and flight deck technologies. Together with Garmin, we’re excited for the opportunity to merge the exceptional talents and strengths from each company to provide superior pre-flight, in-flight and post-flight solutions to the aviation industry. Looking to the future, this acquisition will integrate FltPlan’s industry-leading web portal, FltPlan.com, and mobile application, FltPlan Go, into the Garmin ecosystem to create a superior portfolio of end-to-end services. Premium flight planning services and programs, such as FltLogic, FltPlan Manager, APIS/eAPIS, SMS, pre-departure clearances, international handling, overflight fees and more, will continue to grow and improve as we work together to expand the capabilities of FltPlan.com and FltPlan Go. Garmin is committed to ensuring FltPlan continues to be the industry-leading choice for domestic and international electronic flight plan filing and services. Collectively, we are dedicated to increasing the quality of innovation, support and service that you have come to expect from our companies over the years. Again, thank you for putting your trust in FltPlan over the years. We look forward to continuing to serve you as part of the Garmin family for many years to come. Sincerely, Ken Wilson Founder FltPlan.com (Flight Plan LLC) ************************ Time will tell if this happens, or if Garmin folds it all into their subscription service or shuts it down . . . .

Seems like someone here got the IO-390 during overhaul when they first came out. His writeup and performance were uninspiring. Wonder if the Search box will find it? It was definitely one website upgrade ago, if not two.

Electric Retractable Step Conversion
Hank replied to takair's topic in Vintage Mooneys (pre-J models)
Read the original post, top of Page 1. I'm guessing that his system was vacuum-driven rather than hand-cranked. Electrifying the vacuum step and going solid state on the panel will permit getting rid of the vacuum pump; otherwise, all that money and time on panel upgrades still requires the vacuum pump to move the step . . . . . The step on my C is fixed, looks like a 2x2 square tube welded in place. -
You mean that we can log out????

I bet they even play both kinds of music--country AND western!
-
Dave! Long time no post . . . . Can't vouch for organizing, but there are several experienced rally pilots here. Maybe they can pool their knowledge and put one on.

With a multimeter, corn starch and ball pein hammer???

I have a one-piece belly, 52 screws. The belly panel is about 7 feet long. Start them all before tightening any. I scatter ~6-7 screws around the belly panel to hold it, then start all of them. Then I push up in the middle, tighten a row all the way across, and work to one end then do the other end. Another benefit is that you have room to fish around with the ice pick to find those bits that try to hide. What style belly panel do you have? Please let us know so that no one else accidentally buys one like it!

Keep your speed up, if able.

I've been beld at 4500 msl until less than 4sm from my old base at 567 msl. No option but to swing away and make two minute turns for 540° while descending to 1600 msl TPA, then use the distance back to slow down . . . -
That's what the ice pick is for, lining everything up before putting the screw in!
-
The ones I get are oversized postcards, thick glossy stock, 4 color photos and large print. They go straight into the trash . . . .

Just gotta be more careful. Just redid my car seats with new foam and leather last fall. I sit on them, and even leave it parked outside with the top down while eating.

I know the tank the valve is on works, because it's what I landed on. Change to the other tank so I know it moves. Set to fullest, crank up and taxi out. My runups aren't terribly long. Set radios and GPS before taxi; controls, instruments, prop, mags and I'm done. Except for the very infrequent IFR Hold-before-departure.
-
Me, too. But first I verify that it moves by switching to the other tank, then put it where I want to start off [never pointing toward me!].

Don Maxwell - The Mooney King! Thanks For Sharing Your Knowlege!

Some of us do both. But with the MAPA lists being emailed about, and responses posted in [random?] order depending on when someone read and replied to their email, this site is easier to read and navigate. And if anything, the lists have even greater thread drift . . . . So I've almost quit the MAPA lists [I occasionally read them in digest form], but still value my membership. -
That DPE is probably in iowa, since Cobra is in Nebraska. Add your location to your avatar, it helps in times like this.
