  2. Not to change the subject- it’s definitely a much more serious matter than most give it credit for. I’m not saying it has no use, but we are talking about young kids and a bonafide high power narcotic. High power.
  3. Cool video. I was staying in the Culbera Bay in October. I tried looking for a flight school at Liberia or nearby, wanting to do some local flying but it seemed like San Jose was the only place it might have existed and even then, I think it was ATP. I found some gyrocopters and eventually a helicopter but ended up not pursuing. The views coming in commercial were unreal.

From your other post referring to the special issuance of your third class medical, you likely will never have to deal with the special issuance ever again by simply letting it lapse and then operating on BasicMed from there on out. Since you’ve been away for awhile, might look into that new-to-you program that came out a few years ago.

Seems odd the seller would have anything to do with taxation in this scenario but I guess every state has its own deal. very disappoint they found the corrosion after purchase. That’s like the main thing of a pre buy. Find the corrosion, if it exists.
  11. I agree that the instructor is being a bit dramatic about things ASSUMING you are a rated pilot. If for example you’re working on IR, you’re not looking for someone to teach you how to push the stoppy thing.

  17. So, there are people who say not to ground run your engine too hard because it doesn’t get adequate cooling. Engine gets too hot. They also say don’t ground run your engine because it doesn’t get hot enough; to burn off moisture. E’splain that, Lucy

  19. I have a Stratus 3 that is out of warranty. The internal AHARS went a little wonky and wouldn't stabilize. I sent it back to Sporty's, they put it inside an airplane and confirmed my issue, sent it back to Appareo on my behalf, and they fixed it internally for $180. I was happy with that outcome. Figured I'd share the positive customer service experience with both Sporty's and Appareo. Turn time was about 3.5 weeks

  20. That’s the problem with all of these hero stories where people limp it back to the airport. Lots of people have died passing acceptable landing spots on the way back to the airport. This may not be what happened here but, but it’s worth pondering.
