  1. Mooneyspace sinks to a new low. Deletes a post. Sad. Pathetic. New Normal...
  2. It is better to feel stupid than to be stupid and I, like you, have felt marvelously stupid...from time to time.
  3. SH likes to make lots of excuses instead of owning his training. You "mentors" are all going to "own it" if and when "it" happens. I have an IT "Me oriented" friend. I can talk about why all frigg'n day long. Might as well be talking to myself. Your instructor who signs off for your solo does so with his credibility on the line. With the sign off will be specific criteria. Maybe pattern at X airport with sky conditions not to exceed X. You are not "cut lose"... They are trying to protect you from yourself...as are many posters on this thread. Look up obtuse. You define the word SH.
  4. B.S. Alert. That is not water that is high...
  5. To all of Ross Grands family and especially to his fiancé (so glad to hear she has been released from the hospital) You have my heartfelt condolences on your loss. No words are adequate. Thank you to his cousin for providing more insight into the events and potential contributing factors (call/lowering gear). Flying on the edge. Trying to save it and you get "that" radio call. A totally unnecessary distraction at the WORST possible time. Don't be that guy. Do be that guy that runs to the plane to provide aide. May the rest of your lives be free from tragedy and accidental loss.
  6. Just another way to get there Dave. I think you do need a vacation. Have a safe hopefully LOP trip.
  7. "Tuner Boy" status with all rights, priviledges and honors. Check your mail for your "Super" secret decoder ring. Crummy commercial to follow...
  8. So is putting more HP in an airframe vs filters & exhaust mods...There is an OEM solution. Get an E.
  9. David: Please provide a listing of spinners that WILL work with your mod "as is". Thank you.
  10. It's a theme...
  11. I'd keep that on the DL...
  12. Ticks are much less tenacious... About the same degree of annoying.
  13. It is "O.K." To question. I believe your are correct that pilot error will continue. Less G paperwork and obfuscation appears like a win for manufacturers and users...like me. Maybe getting more safety items like AOA and AH into more cockpits is a "good" thing?
  14. To this day I have a little spot in my craw for my father-in-law. He has cottages in Northern Wisconsin that are on a lake. If winds are out of the north final is right over their cottage. One night he heard a plane go over following by loud noise.... Never called anyone...Never investigated. An IFR pilot was attempting a landing and caught a tree. Since event opening has been extended...Pilot died. Wife seriously injured remained in the plane all night. Two nieces in back seat exited plane and wandered in the dark until early morning when rescue was dispatched. I have to live with myself. I would have run to that aircraft. I respect your decision and understand your emotion post event. Mine would be similar. We are a society based on rules, structure and the law... My thoughts are with the family and hoping the injured passenger has a full recovery.
  15. "That's what Ronnie says"
  16. Yes, you "explained it" before. Now you have OWNED it. It is not the yoke or stick or your lack of wrist strength. If it is trimmed you are fine and adequate...IF you are relaxed and NOT overflying with a "death-grip". I do that on my bike in the wind (gusty), but there I don't have several thousand feet and minutes to F-UP before I die. Lighten up Francis..Is what I tell myself when I notice I am over gripping the throttle on my bike. I say the same to you. Yeah, I am going to give you $%^&. It is what men do. Again, lighten up Francis. Those here are cheering for your success...Including me. I do find you about on par with my wife for being decision-making
  17. You are persistent. I will give you that.
  18. Good for you. I would prefer a Gelandawagen. I will not be checking in with Fidel for anything. EVER.
  19. How about Mathew Broderick? Gets drunk, kills someone with his car, makes millions...
  20. I feel bad for the owner of the plane. I will wait to roast the young man, that is a licensed pilot, until the final report comes out. It appears to be fuel mis-management. Roast me if I ever bend a plane or injure others or their property due to NOT having adequate fuel for the flight. CARDINAL SIN. Don't be that guy or gal.
  21. I have a dog that is 8. To this day if I turn on the gas fireplace he cowers and slithers out of the room. Apparently as a pup he was scared when the flame fired and will not let go of that fear. I would like to think Wookies are smarter than me dog, but that statement is a heads scratcher. Really? One F'd up landing in the wind on a certain day and it is an absolute No No? Pffft.
  22. Congrats. Sounds like a great ride that hopefully continues for many, many more years to come.
  23. Good article by Paul B. Regarding an IFR check experience in a basic panel plane. As a VFR pilot this thread and Paul's words hit home.
  24. Post of the year. OUTSTANDING! THIS should be published. SO GLAD of the outcome.
  25. Is it just me or is somebody pretty full of himself? Goody for you...
