This is a technique problem. Rotate at 75 NOT 80. Use takeoff flaps. As soon as airborne swing gear. This is NOT a high physical demand task. Yes it needs to be fluid and yes it is a skill and YES if you are waiting to long and airspeed increases it is physically difficult to impossible. Why squeamish? If the plane is trimmed once it breaks ground it wants to climb. The swing literally takes a second from release to locked. This should be a non-event. -
I use my parking brake all the time during the run-up. Beats standing on the brakes.

I see no sign of earth disruption by plane. Might it have been removed from runway and placed there on a temporary basis?

Bad day... Pavement if available 100% for reasons stated. Insurance can replace panels, but a digger and sudden stop can be bad for humans...Avoid like the plague.

I added a co-pilot ram-air vent. Key to a happy co-pilot. It was not pricey for A&P to do during annual.

My 696 is displaying weather but NOT traffic. I have two I-pads (mini on yoke for me) and mini on wife’s yoke for her. The 696 was updated with current download <6 months ago so likely I don’t have something “checked”. Anybody know what/where that is? I love my 696 and use it for restricted airspace and course as primary during my VFR flights. I have the GDL-39 basic also installed in plane. The GDL-39 is wired to the 696 and Bluetooth to the pads.

My traffic on iPad has been a negative for my wife. She spots it on screen and I explain there is a 1500’ separation, but she is freaking out until I spot or the converge is past...

Basic Med was a good solution for me. Less expensive and better care. My annual physical is “free” through my health insurance. I get the council of “my” doctor on my health vs. paying for a flight physical every two years. I get the glaucoma and better vision evaluation vs. a simple “eye test”. Really happy with how basic med worked for me.

I have landed a few times in my E model on grass. Always/only when winds were severe and grass was available, of good length and adequately maintained. (Cut and relatively smooth). I have taken off from grass once. Pavement was not available due to maintenance. Non-event each time, but I prefer paved in a Mooney as first option.

Now that I am “old” and body is not that of a 2.5ish decade old human I can appreciate the beauty of both the male and female form. Some dudes need to leave their shirts on...some don’t. A little beach volleyball action is good for female date ticket sales. I am good with that.

There are CLEAR reasons (easily found on web) why those films had a high level of suckage. I like the director. I hope it has some excellent flight scenes and CG wizardry. I remain optimistic that I will be entertained. It’s Navy so homoerotic undertones are never checked at the door. That video with Tarantino was Hi-Larious. I didn’t “see” any of that when I watched back in the day, but I will be smiling next time I cue up T.G. Even if you don’t like Sci-FI Oblivion has great CG flight scenes. I enjoyed the hell out of that movie because of the CG airborne wizardry.

Flip flops are the pox. I know another guy that blew his out and then stepped on a pop top. He cut his heel and had to cruise on back home. Get better.
