  1. That is illogical-Mr. Spock
  2. Can only be installed on putt-putts. Gets interesting, when installed, if you go over 80... ”Where we are going you don’t need runways”...
  3. I do not think this guy was a CFI...Just a knucklehead.
  4. I think your paint scheme and color are utterly fantastic! What a beauty. Well done! Love it.
  5. I have. We flew commercial. Food, Weather, History (went to WWII museum) and of course music were highlights. It was (unknown to us until arrival) Gayfest so there was an interesting party and people watching was extraordinary. We had a great time in the Big Easy. The antique shops and one silver shop was over the top. It was like a museum. We just stumbled in because it looked cool. Walking back inside there was some impressive art on the walls. It turned out that they were a well known art dealer. Kel and I got a private guided tour through a beautiful collection that included a Louis XV period bedroom complete with guilted clock. There were multiple Saturday Evening Post cover Paintings that were huge by Rockwell. I came for the Gumbo and left a fan. I enjoyed the Civil War Confederate statues and hope they are not removed. Although they represent oppression to many they to me represent what we have evolved from. Hope and opportunity from despair. Some of the statues are beautiful pieces of sculpture.
  6. I want to feel that move from one decent to the other. I am more concerned with turning fuel off and thinking I swapped tanks... Way to go Hank. That is impressive. Health benefits a big benefit too!
  7. +1 on the expressions from the backseat drivers...Awesome.
  8. I read my wife the thread and she said: “An inch can really make a nice big difference”... Glad you got ‘r figured out. Sell a bunch. Looks great/faster/cooler. Trifecta achieved. Congratulations!
  9. First I had also heard of the neutral vs. aggressive push on the elevator too.
  10. I’d trade for that skill and your bird in a heartbeat
  11. Wears it?
  12. Put the suit on Ironman. Go enforce justice. I have zero idea what celebrity you are talking about so good use of code and rumor/innuendo...
  13. Seriously find you funny. Both strange and ha ha. Couldn’t give a shit about the perp. Others think what he did was cool and will emulate if they can...Just as school shooters have done. Unlike Spock I believe crazy is crazy. Empathy is as easy as taking a dump. Condemning actions isn’t for the idiot pilot it is for others. Using his name is just another piece that you support...Hell lets even use his nickname. I believe in the death penalty as a deterrent too. So there’s that. Social stigma...Good one Mr. Spock. I prefer to not hang out with people that want to kill themselves. For some it is a career. No thanks. No one quote me or Spock will see my words... To the rocket scientist that said: “Glad he just took himself out instead of others too”...Thanks Captain Obvious.
  14. I literally learned nothing from your post that mostly detailed how someone committed suicide. Not sure what the purpose was of discussing that. If you actually talked about “red flags” in pilots/GA I might have a clue what your general “feel good” by “taking care of our buddies” might actually mean. I look forward to reading about specific details about this guys spiral...or the classic “He was just a great guy...didn’t see this coming” that you often read. I call the military response (heard they were NOT armed) a massive fail. The result could of been VERY different if someone that meant harm to many had procured the commercial aircraft. I have read this is a “one off” nothing to be alarmed about...We have it under control mantra. THIS was a massive fail by TSA/FAA and Big G. Meanwhile sheeple move on and joke about this...
  15. There you go. Joking about and calling “a legend” somebody that stole a commercial aircraft and crashed it intentionally killing himself and destroying the plane. This guy was a total F^&^stick. He shoould be shunned. There should not be jokes. Especially from pilots in the pilot community. What is “Funny” about. This scenario? You wonder why. People that feel lost or are mentally imbalanced do acts like this or “copy cat” others? This is why. Because they are immortalized and called “legends” by their peers. Because people that know better use their name and have them flying with the Blue Angels. This shit is about as funny as a case of polio...
  16. The only time I bent metal was with an instructor doing something they directed me to do...Simulating an emergency loss of power in pattern. This also killed a high time Mooney test pilot up with another pilot (stall on base to final turn). If this maneuver is killing pilots with experience levels that make me look like what I am (a rank amateur). I am NOT doing a 45 degree bank in pattern while low and slow. Fly safe. Your plane during instruction...
  17. I have a voice warning for gear and stall. I was trying to climb once over a thin, but approaching cloud layer. I was full power and pulling a little too much with fixation on getting over the clouds to clear on top. Heard “stall” and immediately pushed and said “NOPE” we are going low in the clear and “hot” for this flight. “It” CAN happen...
  18. Beat you on that one. Already gone...
  19. I agree with everything you said. Maybe original poster can speak for himself.
  20. A primary mission of the U.S. Govenment is to protect citizens from all enemy’s foreign and domestic. Once that guy steals a plane and talks about crashing it he is a threat and should be neutralized. We are not talking about a drone orbiting over the city with a license to kill. We are talking about a clear and present danger from a threat by a commercial aircraft. FAA a federal jurisdiction has oversight. We are told this is a “one off”? Really? This is another symptom.
  21. What is the fuel flow. I can’t read it.
  22. Counterpoint. One mans bashing is another’s questioning...I’ll move on when I feel like it.
  23. Normally I wouldn’t speak ill of the dead...but in this case I will make an exception. Suicide in and of itself is a very selfish act. In this case the perp not only killed himself, but he risked the lives of other innocents in and around the airspace. He also destroyed a plane that society has to pay for so as I was told when I had a gear up “Thanks for the impact on all our insurance rates”... The guys actions should be condemned in the strongest possible terms. I have ZERO interest in listening to the audio. I have compassion for his family/friends and those that cared. Him? Not even a little bit based on his manner of exit. A guy at Mesa Airlines (15 year mechanic) waxed on about how the guy is a legend....After saying I wouldn’t understand when I said “Try and explain why he is a “legend”...He said: Every mechanic that has been in the cockpit says to themselves “I could fly this thing” and this guy went out and did it...so he is a “legend”. Face palm... Copycats? Here they come... But enjoy that show and his words...aww shucks. “Personally I wish they would have blown the guy out of the sky and shot the bigger bits as they descended”...But I would enjoy YES enjoy seeing replays of school shooters getting put down like the rabid dogs they are. I would rather spend my tax dollars on Air Force gunnery and teacher/Police training than mental health.
  24. You know what will be awesome? If a turbo guy talks about how fast his plane is...Or a Huge engine on a Comanche, or an experimental. Good times.
  25. And two posters here don’t give fuel flow either. Face palm...
