  1. Congrats. Definitely need some interior pics. X in Reg and Greenish....Pitter patter goes my heart. Enjoy! That is a whopper of a get to know you flight. Well done.
  2. We are truly BRAND ambassadors. A good company would be proud of their heritage. Celebrate it. Porsche does this extremely well. Mooney has had a quality product that, like Porsche, has stood the test of time. The resemblance of vintage to new is a POSITIVE! Bob’s plane should be IN THE MOONEY BOOTH. The bones are strong. I have been treated well when I announced I was a proud vintage Mooney owner. The show can no doubt be fatiguing with several days hard at it from a marketing standpoint. I will give Mooney the benefit of the doubt. I love opening AOPA and seeing an Ultra ad every month. I hope Mooney sells some planes this week. I would NEVER select Beech over Mooney if buying new. Face palm on that...YES, I am a brand snob. Cirrus? Never was a frat party kinda guy. Hope Mooney finds that middle ground between standoffish and frat party anything goes. Is a chute like a condom? A lot of those at frat parties. (Just kidding-I don’t want that debate again). Weather should be spectacular. Enjoy the low humidity and sun everyone! With you in spirit.
  3. So that is the bottom line. Buy a plane that has been flying and has had service within last year. Otherwise “free” is NOT really free. I have been there. Do NOT buy this plane unless $35-50k is available. Tanks will leak. Avionics will fail. Engine will fail. Brake and hydraulics, hoses, mags, vacuum. This is a perfect parts donor plane. Let it die so others might continue to live happy productive lives... Cue Sawman.
  4. SWTA windshield mod. Cowl mod. Wingtip mod. 8 pack panel. Auto pilot. Nice exterior and interior. J-Bar. Recent engine and prop overhaul. What dark history does this have? Has it sold yet? I would of been on the phone so fast to get the logs. I could of saved so much $$$$ over mine. Sigh...
  5. My rubber is riveted. I see no holes here. What is still behind on ram air door?
  6. A&P replaced mine with correct rubber as supplied by Mooney (not cheap) some time ago. It is multi riveted in place. Yes larger than metal folding exterior door to “seal” entire opening as stated. That is pretty sobering what occurred. Definitely needs inspecting. I look at my door in pre-flight and confirm rubber is there. I was doing it more to ensure no debris entered. This gives a whole new and more important reason for inspection of ram air door and seal.
  7. You won’t have any problem selling that plane for $50AMU’s as equipped. Should of put shoulder harnesses in though.
  8. I used to have leaky mains and nose gear. Needed air a lot. Has not been an issue with change out of the tubes. Money well spent. If I flew on grass a lot I might install, but have not had caps on for years.
  9. Hate’s a strong word. I use it sparingly. I hate War. I hate Poverty. I sometimes hate the actions of people, but can not think of anyone that i would invest hatred toward. Whatever...
  10. WHAT A TURD OF A THREAD.
  11. Really? So if they intercept and perceive a threat you don’t think they will fire? WHATEVER DUDE.
  12. Thoughts with everyone. Hope window opens and you enjoy a safe fun flight to EAA. Come on weather. Smile for a couple hours. Pretty please..... Fly safe everybody!
  13. Thought poster was talking about a fuel smell in cabin BEFORE engine start. My bad. Fuel smell in cabin with blue stains on rear co-pilot/pilot sides are classic indicators of seal failure on fuel senders. I KNOW from personal experience. Carry on....
  14. Ahhhhh, O.K. My bad.
  15. If you have fuel smell in cabin you likely have leaks in your fuel senders. Fix ‘em, or open the door and air it out before you fly.
  16. Fuel (not burned) has nothing to do with a CO sensor...Just sayin’
  17. Your priorities were spot on. Congrats on all “life” achievements. Taildraggers do it in the dirt... Have fun. I have 13 hours in a Citabria and it is just pure unadulterated fun.
  18. I guess you couldn’t find it... Answer is NO. It is in there somewhere.
  19. I have the electric solenoid installed. The yoke switch does same as the old yoke thumb button, but instead of holding it is “off” or on (PC) based on switch position. The solenoid is “working” when you have PC in off position as it has an electric input to close the valve...just like your thumb. YOU STILL HAVE THE PC control. Mine in my ‘66 is below (pilot side) window access below the hydraulic fluid reservoir. I haven’t seen it, but I know it is there. When it dies I will replace with the unit that is married to Turn Coordinator. (TC-100)
  20. Apparently more difficult than an Accu-Trak as my A& P said pass on doing the install. Jerry did a fine job. Service is DEFINITELY a BIG concern. I wish someone would purchase and continue to support Brittain.
  21. Red? John Deere Green is king in Iowa buddy.
  22. Everyone knows the “best” is whatever is in your hanger that unlocks your passion every time you say “clear the prop”...
  23. He had me at “ball sucking”....
  24. Sorry (not sorry) this just strikes me as length condescension. A short body Mooney can do what an F does (as stated). A short bodied Mooney is a “Forever” Mooney in every way that a Mid or Long body Mooney is. You can put just as much in the panel, fly as far with extended tanks, EVEN over mountains (if doing so in a single engine plane is your thing). I roll my eyes in your general direction (A)...
