  1. Clarence, can you give me a little instruction here , I don't know what this means carl
  2. I'd weld it . Welds are stronger than the case. Cases are really low pressure vessels, there is no combustion in the case, they fail because of the crappy casting process used, if you could weld up a complete case that would be sweet, and probably more expensive and heavy. I would send it to Chuck Ney in Tulsa and leave it up to them.
  3. and I am curious as to the sale price ? Introductory offer, Mooneyspace discount, over 55 discount ?
  4. what did you do about your starter, when you were stuck at airglades ?
  5. How about this?
  6. Well, I ordered a part from Mooney around thanksgiving. The other day they said" we are not back from the holidays yet." We are approaching two months now." So, don't get your hopes up about an announcement, They probably will say "When we get back from the holidays"!

  10. Ok , I don't fully comprehend this but it appears we started a fund for westbrookgolfer Ok I have a $100 bill too, I'll throw in to help a flyer get this plane together. carl
  11. Great plane.
  12. Sure Joe, My plane is stuck in annual waiting for parts. (topic;I love my annual) I will be snowed in until spring thaw since I'm doing my annual at a grass strip. So now I'm dry walling the garage. I will update . Carl
  13. Pretty cool thinking that your Mooneys were in sight of each other 50 years ago! Like this Quote One plane between them. I would like to see a picture of his .
  14. Glafaille said it was sold, I wonder who has it and if he is on here. I have a similar plane that is awesome, but my children's inheritance is going into it. And I love flake.
  15. and post a picture here too. plan on freighting it out. No one is ever lucky enough to have a welder next door. the repairer will do this, My mechanic will rebuild and send the case out to be welded.
  16. That should be a easy fix . Weld it up. where are you located?
  17. I would like to see that one, Is he on this site Skmoore63, Yes it will be better then before. I was expecting it .
  18. http://www.knr-inc.com/knr_inc_joomla/shoptalk-articles/25-shoptalk/34-200103-free-play-in-the-mooney-tail Here is a article
  19. This is what I learned at this annual , My tail had some play. I wanted it removed and inspected , but you should be able to change the bolt without removing the whole tail.
  20. It is a 1967 E originally from Santa Monica California airport. I think it must have been tied outside there for a bit at least, with the salt air. It is original paint and has never had a anti-corrosion treatment. But I think it is all expected in the restoration process, just like restoring a P38 Lightning that is buried in a glacier. You just have to repair and replace as things come up. This is my first annual and I hope this the the worst of them. I learned a lot this month. Carl
  21. "lift off " stripper ? cool concept..
  22. but. it has original 1967 paint.. paint stripper is bad . what else could you use ?
  23. I don' know that off the top of my head , it is only held on by a few bolts, and the control rods. It was loose when you pulled up on it. You can inspect it and find the loose attachment point though the inspection ports.
  24. And finally, for Ross. The wing gap is good !!! Paint will still look bad for some more years. Corrosion X application will make me wait .
