  1. Flap hinges , Some good , some exfoliated. Note the bulging flap bracket . Don Maxwell has an article on this.
  2. Some dirty hinges, most are good , some are exfoliated and trashed. more....
  3. It seem every Christmas I am in annual. Took off tail to replace one bolt , so we will replace some rusty ones too. Control rods have " surface Corrosion" , cleaned they are pitted, these are thin wall tubes, so they are getting replaced. Wait I got a few more....
  4. take off a shoe and wedge in the door opening . leave the other shoe on . if you get.out the ground is covered with burrs and stuff. take off both shoes if into the water .to swim better . the wedge helps to prevent the door from jamming when the airframe is bent on impact. .but who can remember this if you are.crashing ?
  5. A Hatz like this ?
  6. Craig, Ads are good things. I hope there is a place , An Add Page, so I can go and check out the cool stuff. GoPro should pay well to be on this site, and Aspen. I hope I don't miss out on some new electronics because I'm a supporter and will miss their ad. Carl
  7. I used to fly to airglades when nothing was there. Glad you live close Ha, Stuart.
  8. how did you get home? Is the plane still at airglades?
  9. two doors!!!
  10. As a First Officer on a corporate, can you fly for free to France ?
  11. I This is the way I would approach it. It is to good to be true, so it is probably not. Then I'd call Philippe in France . Then maybe call the FAA , this is registered with an US N number. but to a company in the UK. SOUTHERN AIRCRAFT CONSULTANCY INC TRUSTEE Street TOWN FARM POUND LANE DITCHINGHAM BUNGAY City SUFFOLK State County Zip Code NR352DN Country UNITED KINGDOM Southern Aircraft Consultancy is the leading professional aircraft registration company in the UK. We specialise in providing Individual Trust Agreements to non-US citizens to enable them to legally register their aircraft on the American "N" register. We will provide you with a fully Approved Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Trust Agreement and all supporting documentation. Our Trust Agreement is individually drawn up for you and your aircraft, providing you and your aircraft with complete security. Well I just answered my next question. Why a trust? Then call Southern aircraft consultancy about title transfer ( this may be easier than I originally thought) If I were doing this.I would fly my mechanic over there to inspect it.You ,however, have an aviation background deeper then mine, I would also need a ferry pilot, you can do this yourself too. I would find an aviation attorney to handle the escrow and the transfer. Is this a scam ? I bought a telescope yesterday on Craig's list . I went and checked it out . then i said "when its in my car Ill pay you." He said "ok . but don't get in the car,I'll put it in for you." We both though we were scamming each other and were very cautious. It work out well. There are scammers , but they usually disappear when you won't send a shipping fee or a deposit and you want to inspect the plane. The question is really ,how is the main spar, any corrosion etc. It is far away. You don't have to worry about any one else buying it before you.At least here in the US ,You are the closest. carl
  12. This is one of my favorite planes that is for sale. Only because my m20 E was at the same airport. Minden NV . I bought mine one year ago ( hey it must be Christmas ) This would be a plane for me at $20,000 . That's what I'd shoot for and then upgrade it. Asking $35,000, LASAR has it on their website.as you know LASAR will let you post Mooneys for sale without any endorsement from them .. 6 hours SMOH ,which is why the price is so high . form the ad: Comments: Plane has been in IRAN for last several years. I have lost my Medical and I must sell the aircraft now. call my I/A for details At 925-822-5010 his name is BobHighlights: Mooney Super 21 M20E Great flying project Needs paint or finish polishing and some minor interior work carl 1964 m20 E
  13. Knots 60 90 120 150 180 Min:Sec FAF to MAP 6 NM 6:00 4:00 3:00 2:24 2 This from an approach plate . So I try for 90 kt (103mph) , that is still above my flap speed. 120 knots(138mph) is way above my gear speed. ( I am not IR yet. ) pattern I try 90mph, 90-80 through base, 80 final and 70 over the numbers, then wait and pray, maybe some screaming,no ,I always scream " Fly the dang thing" over the numbers per Bob Hoover. carl

  15. A very amazing job. I am surprised by the appearance of the Sewing machine. Great steal at the estate sale .
  16. Ok . I do think pictures would be a great addition to the story. Do you think the owner was a member of Mooneyspace?
  17. I stumped . Do you see an opportunity here i'm missing? It must also be in Arizona. Help out a poor guy, tell me whats going on here. I understand from a salvage , strip , and sell part point only. carl
  18. I just bought a new governor too. For my 1967 20 E. Sensenich propeller said they can rebuild this, it's junk! Oh well .I'll call that my Christmas gift to myself. carl
  19. The Mooney from the top or bottom has a very distinct tail too. I can't get the picture in
  20. How about a picture of the sewing machine ? Great idea
  21. There was a rumor that you mag will quit at 500 hours . So I am having both rebuilt for no reason except hours. carl
  22. I love this HA HA "Wireless remote control water heaters, electric motors, electric doors, lights, fans, rice cookers and other appliances by your smart phone" I need a rice cooker I can start when I'm not around!
  23. I pay $137 including taxes . I thought I was being taken for a ride, over the mountain that would get you a little more room. Now over in Indiana Pa they want $168. But you can put up a pole barn structure no problem , If I were you I'd call up to Maxson airfield and see if they will let you stay there. Here the number, they might say nope! , they might say sure. Especially if you offer to build your own pole building in the spring. Maxson airfield manager DAVID LABRECQUE 2706 POPPLETON RD DURHAMVILLE, NY 13054 315-525-7632
  24. yes . great job .
