  2. Oscar , was that in DC, or Miami? Not in Guatemala I bet
  3. I would buy the plane. Then sue everybody !!!! Then with the award buy a Mooney Ovation. or do nothing
  4. Brain has an awesome 1967 E . What's a twinkie? Something faster, like a Paris jet? carl
  5. did you see this on the lasar site 1964 M20E (N6781U) - $35,000.00
  6. 1964 M20E (N6781U) - $35,000.00 this was on the lasar site . I saw this plane in Minden. I think it is a gem in the rough, or maybe a polished, badly, diamond. Has not flown in a few years ,owner lost medical. This is where I got my E , must happen a lot out there.
  7. I opened my ram air intake at 3000 feet on my climb , noted on my data entry. I think it works.
  8. I only use my brakes for taxiing
  9. awesome job ! impressive winds !
  10. Today I took off at 10:45, OAT was 6 c, DA 1,600 (AWOS) and field elevation is1503. ( I'm using 1500 for the math ) 23 gallons of fuel , just me 200Lbs. Wide Open throttle. 2600 rpm, cowl flap open, CHT not exceeding 400, ( it was cold today) 2000 500, Missed the time 110mph 3000 1000.... 2mins Ram air booster on 110mph 4000 1000 ... .3mins 105 mph 5000 1000.... 4mins 105 mph 6000 1000.... 5 mins 105 mph 7000 1000 .... 5 Mins What the heck my clock stopped!!!! 100mph 8000 1000 ....5 mins 100mph 9000 1000.... 5 mins 100mph 10000 1000.... 5mins 100mph 10500 500 ... 5mins 100mph the climb on my other timer looks like 9 minute total, but I have to repeat this with an improve date recording method and timing device . Then I flew to Cove Valley airport (grass strip) and dropped the plane off for its annual . I set some new personal firsts . New max altitude record 10,500 feet . First Mooney landing on a grass strip. It was surrealist at that altitude, ultra calm. I took a picture from 10,500 for your viewing pleasure. The climb out pitch angle was something I never experienced before, except when trying to stall. You can't see a thing.
  11. me too . and this dang ringing in the ears all the time . they say its cause im 58 . . .
  12. you are going to teach ifr training in your plane and you are the cfi do i have that right?
  13. glad to see you are back .
  14. can't you just say " washington center , mooney needs a climb direct to 10000 ' for the mooney time to climb challenge ., and can i get a altitude report every minute . ": ha ha classic atc loves this stuff.
  15. this is all just to mess up the atc controllers . pure fun i will be setting a new personal altitude record .
  16. pictures too . wooohooo ! i might have to take a vacation day to do this .
  17. don . you are right . and nothing get me motivated like a time to climb challenge . when i was a wee little snapper . i was hanging around ft lauderdale executive when they took a lear 23 and took off and went straight up . trying to set a record . i think it was harvey hop. ok so just pure data from your home airport to 10000. . ok or another airport if you want to get away from atc . then caculate climb rate per minute . ( if you are taking off at 8000 you will get there faster then me ) first person to do this start a new forum "time to climb" then we can add in
  18. wow . great idea . time to climb challenge . here is the plan . from your home airport . from the end of the runway . brakes off to 10,000 feet . how long does it take ? ill do it ! carl

  22. Why did you have to go and mention fire!!!!! MooneyPTG ---- That doesn't look that bad. I will try it. ( I'm going to bring up this forum when I do it.) Brian - I am in the slow process of learning to fly mine and hope to improve its condition, but yours like bob Belville's is unmatchable by me.
  23. I don't like it. I think I'm going to fall, and its a long way down. I hate the Ferris wheel. I like just at tree top level. To over come this I have hiked Pikes Peak, and jumped from a plane at 15,000'. And, yes, really I am a licensed pilot. carl
