  1. You are all right . The most frustrating is "UPS won't deal with you b/c you're not the sender." and I hope it was insured. These are the adventures that make life fun .....I keep telling myself.
  2. Hello Everyone. My newly purchased 1967 M20 E was expected to be ready for pickup just before Christmas. So I flew out on American Airlines from Pittsburgh to Reno, to bring it back. Of course there was one problem. The prop and hub was sent out to be eddy checked ( old prop). It was then crated and sent back on the 22nd . It was lost. UPS says," we don't know anything, its Christmas." I am trying to get answers but everyone went on vacation, including the prop shop! Question 1) Anyone ever heard of such a thing happening? What was the outcome? Ups states " If the package cannot be found, the shipper can file a claim up to the declared value of the package contents. " Question 2) Do you think I'll get a prop or are they cutting me a check ? Question 3) Any ideas of time frame ? I have to go back to Pa.next week. Questions 4) How am I going to get this plane home? Ideas Of course this must happen all the time.Nothing to worry about. Carl
  3. Hey, Thanks everyone for your comments xrs135 I will be in Reno Christmas. If you want to email me ; carlkenyon@yahoo.com ,I would accept your PVC pipe fuel selector tool thing, ryoder; I accept your advise , and I will begin a training program. Carl
  4. Maybe elevators . carl
  5. I know this from experience , I spent eight months transitioning my sale, everyone else dropped out due to the lengthy court battles. If the children are involved , woow a long time . Just hang in there . Buy it. Carl
  6. Ok, maybe I'm too fat. Maybe I'm too stiff. Maybe I,m too short with short arms . I don't know. But I am more fun than a bunch of parrots in a Mooney (Ha HA , that a joke Parrot Wizzard) But the fuel selector in the M20 E is just impossible to operate. In the pattern , Fuel selector to fullest tank. Boy I better be 2000 feet above pattern altitude. Because I have to put my head under the yoke to reach the blimey thing. Mooney are not aerobatic, but really they are......... So, I have seen this piece of PVC pipe notched out to fit the fuel selector valve and you can turn it without rolling the plane. The major question is ; does anyone have the dimensions to make this pipe. ( this will answers my question, is anyone using this thing.) My plane is in RENO and I have to pick it up at Christmas. (I have been flying a flight school's plane in Virginia) . Any Mooney pilot in Reno want to check out this plane with me, around the pattern ( test Pilots?) Carl
  7. A very long time ago, I would ride my bike to Fort Lauderdale Executive airport (FXE) .I would hang out with Harvey Hop and his copilot at Southeastern Jet sales. I did anything they said to do. go get me a coke, vacuum this out. I wanted to ride in a Learjet . Never did. But one day Lisa Marie was there and I was called upon to fill up a whiskey decanter and run it up to the jet. On board I was thanked and given a tour. The gold bathroom fixtures were amazing, the guy with sideburns, giving me the tour said "see that saying, TCB, you make that your own,and you'll be great" I didn't know who he was or what TCB meant until years later when I saw an Elvis documentary with the TCB , Taking Care of Business, emblem, then it all clicked. I think the fences that keep the kids out of airport are criminal. I also flew the Goodyear blimp But my highlight is my newly aquired Mooney 1967 20E Carl
  8. I once was in a multi use hanger . I gave the line guy a case of beer to get my plane out. I did that once. From then on my plane was out and ready to go , it was like I gave him a million dollars. he said no one ever even thanked him before. now I found a private T hanger . I have to pull it out myself. what was I thinking?
  9. Yes, I hope I am happy with it, I love the Johnson bar concept . But yesterday ,training,it was a hard thing to put down. To the point where my arm is killing me today. the mechanic is going to check it out ,but are they super hard to put down? The fuel selector valve location is screwed up too.. Lets change tanks and roll this bird. This is why I wanted to get some training in the exact type and model . Fast as heck, the instructor says, just fly it like a jet. ( I have no time in a jet) carl
  10. My deal went through , so now I own a m20 e . I have found an instructor with a M20 e at Blue Ridge Aviation near Harrisonburg, va. Super great . flew 1.5 hours today awesome carl.
