  6. Oh heck those poor flight schools are probably thinking there is a bus load of students coming . I too called Attitude Aviation Livermore Airport 925 -456 -2276 I spoke to Rodger. 4/18/2016 @ 6:15 pm (eastern time ) He says they have changed up their format a bit and the big radial Texan is gone and all the aerobatic planes too. A Pitts will be returning in a few months. They are operating Cessna 172s and Pa 28s etc See the list TWINTER posted . They have several instructors who can work with you. They are “well-staffed” and can work around just about any schedule The 172 is about $129-$155 /hr wet, the difference is the avionics installed Well I'm thinking maybe I'll go out there to do my biannual and see the big red bridge. carl
  7. somehow I think you are really not in financial management , except your own. BUSTED!
  8. well with the change in the pricing then i would change my recommendation and say just keep on keepin on. but write in the flight club scheduling board SOLO MAY 12 . let everyone know . fly with any instructor .
  9. Oh my, Milpitas is almost next door to Livermore. I would check it out. Bonel's a pilot! He knows.
  10. Awesome , Looks like the blue dinning room in the White-house. Sam - good picture,my money is still on may 12 th as a solo day.
  11. A troll someone using a fake identity. I understand now Sam , we are going to need pictures. Maybe in the pilot seat or with a famous personality. We all have to do this at one time or another .Here I am with the Parrot Wizard
  12. Oh yeah, I say , he will solo May 12th
  13. What is an internet troll ? I remember that one guy who wanted a airplane donated to his cause . Ok troll Someone looking for money or donation, troll Someone looking for emails to sell stuff too . troll Someone wants a ride for no reason . ??? maybe The Hollywood acting dogs ???? troll vs idk? Sammy has not crossed into these areas. He is a new beginning flyer , that just happened to find a Mooney Owners site where we are all STILL as enthusiastic as he is. Carl
  14. I soloed in 40 hours , (that is soloed , not my licence) but i went whenever I accumulated enough money , that's the slow way so you redo stuff
  15. so true , I learned in a rented 150, then into a rented 172, then bought the Grumman then my Mooney, my next step is my IR
  16. Well this is what I think you should do. 1) buy a Cessna 180 tail dragger. ( tail draggers make better pilots) 2) hire a CFI to fly with you (on a cheaper per hour contract deal then through a FBO) and get your license and IR. 3) After you get you license you will probably want a different plane, so get another one. 4) sell the one you don't want. I'm on my second plane, I will list them; AA5 Grumman Mooney M20 E How about everyone listing the planes you own or have owned, in order. Not what you fly for work ( unless you own it ) cause those G -5 s make me cry. SAM, This is a popular post because we like to talk about planes. Carl
  17. Damn ! I'm booking that flight !!!
  18. yes but I found piloto I watched that post for a week ,with zero comments , I thought it was a classic , so I had to reply with something!
  19. Have we considered the small jet.? I may have missed this question, Sam ,What is you occupation ? Carl
  20. HA hA Yes , when I pull up to the self service pumps, they come out to make sure Im not stealing anything.
  21. the duke vs a c 340 hmm. A friend of mines first plane was a c340. ( which I fly ,awesome) went to american flyers in fort lauderdale and hired them to teach him to fly it and get his multi engine , then his instrument , then his commercial . that was in the 1990s, he still flys it. and makes the statement "I never had to upgrade because I bought the best plane I could find" Get the plane you want , get the training & experience in your plane and life is good for me it would be an aero commander 500s , but i cant afford the single engine i have now.
  22. Michael, Can I fly my E from Altoona to St Augustine non stop? with standard tanks ? 52 gal , 651 miles I know you can . carl
  23. The Cessna 335 , a non pressurized 340. if you didn't want the pressurized deal . If you can afford it . You are right . its perfect.
  24. here is a great idea . a small 10 gallon reserve tank , it could be located right between the front seats , if you run out of fuel you could switch to it and then land right away. It could be clear , maybe glass, so you could see how much was left, then when you ran out of fuel, instead of landing right away, maybe you could stretch it a little further as you watch the fuel level drop. zzzzzzzz sarcasm
  25. something like $1500 get a salvaged one
